We started a running club today at work (set up last week), the first run was today, I really enjoyed introducing three people to Laura today as they started W1R1, whilst the two other more experienced went for a longer run.
I do hope they fall in love with running and get addicted a bit like I did!
It started well as it was snowing when we went out and that didn't put them off.
We might be seeing them on the blog soon, if you see this, say hi, everyone is friendly here, promise
It has also got others interested, they ignored the original email, but no one can ignore that many of us in running gear.
That's great Phil! I think C25K could be used by so many groups as it gives you measurable progress that many other sports don't. It would be great if people introduced it in schools as well.
I might have been the founder, but the running club is a definately a cooperative. We all decided that lunchtime was best and we all meet on Wednesdays, although members have independently chosen to run together on other days. I plan to run with two of the more experienced runners on Monday.
Wow well done Phil, thats brilliant. Its a wonderful way to get people introduced to running, they can follow the programme and also not be running alone, excellent. Its probably more appealing to someone who has never tried running before than a running club would be. Keep us posted on how everyone gets on.
Definitely agree, we all know each other already so makes it easier, I still haven't plucked up the courage to go with my friend to her running club yet
Hi Phil that's great news. I hope they all get as much out of it as you have. Well done. I'm still out there, slow but moving. I tried the treadmill when the snow was about but didn't like it. Keep up the good work. Pat
