Well I gone & done it, week 9 run 3 complete! I travelled the furthest in a single run activity (6.2km including the warm up & cool down) & got my fasted 5k! (29:08). I ran most of the program full steam ahead & it was only with the last couple of weeks I dialed back the pace to stay around Z3 aerobic as I should have done from day 1 so I have plenty of consolidation work to do for that aerobic base. What can I say male ego dies hard & I stepped on the gas again as it was the final run! After a couple of months of slow aerobic runs (I also strength train & cycle) I plan to up the distance & speed. Have a great week all & to those just starting out: It gets easier, I almost feel like I different person! It was brutal running for 3mins, now 30mins no problem! Who knows if I stick with it maybe I'll be running ultras one day! :D Thanks for all the support from this great resource, couch to 5k is a wonderful thing indeed! :)
