Hooray I've finished ... or have I just started?

I have just finished my week 9 run 3 and actually felt quite emotional to hear Laura say goodbye. I have only just sent my first blog (pre-run) and now here I am.I have never run before (or done anything vaguely active) but after reaching the age of 53 and having lost four stones (at that point) I felt really motivated to do something. Apart from the great benefits of running (or as my husband calls it shuffling) it is wonderful to go out walking with my husband without lagging behind. Week 4 was a killer for me but I can't tell you how great it feels now. I shan't give up now and I'm looking forward to Race for Life in July. Good luck to everyone. Off to buy some running shorts to celebrate.

Congratulations! Great blog for your graduation, keep it up now woth your post grad efforts! It's always good to read of other peoples experiences as we go aloing on our journeys! Ask for your grad badge too!

Very well done on your weight loss too! I am on that journey, 2 stone gone, about 4 left to get rid of... Thinking after some hot runs this week I need to get some capri or 3/4 length running leggings, will never be brve enough for shorts! :-)

I am completely inspired - reading this post and others comments. I am on baby runs of week 4 - last one to go tomorrow. I have a couple of stone to lose yet. It is really heartening to hear others milestones and achievements.

Shorts a definite no no for me - and no new running gear until I have week 9 under my belt.

Well done and congratulations
