That maybe it for a while

So after graduating in March on the day my mum passed. I have undertaken 37 graduation runs with Sarah the majority of them 5k ands lot under 30 mins. So last week was asked to play 6 a side football and had a good game for an hour nearly 6000steps. Next day was a little sore as hadn’t played for nearly 10 years. Muscles hurt different to the running ones. Another agility competition this weekend the runs with the dog on Saturday went well so played football with the grandson for a very short while. Did first run with my dog today ran down to the finish and received two sharp pains in the thighs to the extend could barely walk or lift left leg right seems to be not as bad. So pills and rest seems no running, football or agility for now. Not sure how long will have to stop will now worry if it will happen again. First injuriesin nine months.

Oh dear. See how you feel after a few days rest, hopefully it isn't as bad as it seems at the moment but maybe need a medical opinion. Fingers crossed for you 🤞

What a nuisance! Hopefully it's just the unaccustomed type of exercise of playing football and resting will help. Soaking in a bath with Epsom salts is supposed to help.

Rest is the best form of recovery.

Once you have an injury you need to be aware that you will probably always have a susceptibility in that area, unless it can be strengthened by specific exercises.

Take care.

Oh dear. Narrated like a pro... I just knew something nasty was coming. I wonder how often those two words “football” and “grandson” are followed by the third word “pain”????? Wishing you a good recovery!

Thanks Bigfeet it’s easing so hopefully just a rest may help and a gradual return

If you can still walk them that might help you keep some fitness. Take care while on the injury couch!
