Running for a total of 18 mins rather than the 20 mins of W5 R3 seems strange but it was a good work out. Last 2.5 mins was accompanied with a bit of lung burn so I know it’s definitely developing my fitness further and I was glad to finish and do the warm down walk and a few stretches. So overall very happy and hopefully some good preparation for the 25 minute run later this week once i’ve cracked the 2 x 10 minute runs coming next. Am really enjoying being out on my own in peace and quiet in football fields I am running around and especially getting fitter though dodging the odd dog the dog walkers let off the lead on the fields can be tricky but it’s well worth it.
W6 R1 - a good work out: Running for a total of... - Couch to 5K
W6 R1 - a good work out
Very well done.. simply relax and enjoy
Very well done... tricky intervals those, especially if you think they’re gonna be easier than the last run.
Congrats! If you are running on a football pitch too, you will have a more challenging surface which will improve your strength and fitness above road running. Keep it up and keep us posted. Not far to go now, and you will crack the 5K/30mins before the bad weather puts a damper on your journey.
Thank you much appreciated
Brilliant FGB! Sounds like you’ve found your happy place. 👍😀
I have no doubt at all that you’ll smash the rest of the programme. Fantastic stuff! 👏👏👏
I finished the 20 min rum last night and have week 6 run 1 tomorrow. I saw they were shorter so thought I may try to go faster. did you find it easier doing the shorter runs and did you go faster. I see that you found the last 2.5mins a bit more difficult.
I didn’t try to go faster as advice from a few on the forum was to beware of W6 R’s 1 and 2 as they can be tricky following the 20 minuter as you can think they will be easy but can catch a few people out. In some ways I prefer not having to stop and restart so the longer continuous run for me seems more enjoyable in a weird sort of way. Enjoy your week and wish you every success.
Got it. Thanks for the advice. I will see how I get on tomorrow. Good luck to you too. Onwards and upwards.
