First 20 min run

Hi,

I have just completed the first run of Week 6 (20 minutes). It just about killed me, but I did it. I have never been a jogger or runner. This is probably a daft question, but is it normal to feel like you just can’t get enough air? Those last 5 minutes were particularly tough, breathing-wise. Also, is there anybody else that doesn’t get the feel-good endorphins? I know Michael Mosley researched this and found not everyone does.

The 20 minute run on here is wk5r3 I'm not sure if you've posted wrong it not . Anyway to make running enjoyable you have to be able to breathe. You will need to slow down and slow even more to sort your breathing out. Good luck😊

Oh yes, sorry, I was getting ahead of myself: week 5, run 3, I meant. Ok, thanks, I will try going slower next time - but I felt like I was already going pretty slow... 😐

You're doing great. Now the amount of people that think they're going slow then go out again and really slow it right down the results are great 😊😊

Ok, I will make sure I go much slower next time. Good to know it doesn’t have to feel that bad!

Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃 😊 👍 go slower next time 👍

Well done on completing 5:3 the 20 min run & 6:1. You are doing great. 👏👍If you battling to get air you need to slow right down! 🐌 As soon as It feels like a struggle I know I have upped my pace and by slowing it right down...starts to feel better again. Once your pace is right, you enjoy it more and the feel good factor may kick in. My endorphins kick in after I complete the run! Check on your hydration too, both run & rest days. A well hydrated body is a happier body.

Thanks. I will try to really slow down. It certainly wasn’t any fun today. Hopefully next time will be better. 🥴
