Week 3 run 1

Hi Everyone!

I have just discovered this part of the app and think this may be very useful. I just completed run 1 of week 3 this evening.

I have done couch to 5 k before with a group and it was longer than 9 weeks and seemed easier.

I am actually quite scared I found the 3 mins tough enough... I can’t imagine how I will be able to suddenly jump to 25 mins in week 7 or so.

I hate that I am so unfit! Does anyone else feel like this.... how will I make the increases??

Thank you so much!

Any one else going to do week 3 run 2 next? Thanks

Great for getting to wk3. I think we all feel the same , thinking how will I ever be able to run for 30 minutes, I know I did . But just trust the plan and keep posting and reading on here .

C25k is an amazing plan and really does work you'll get lots of encouragement and support on here good luck 😊😊

I think we all questioned this, I know I sure did and to a degree I still am however someone one here gave the great advice to me to not worry about what is ahead and instead enjoy what I am achieving each time I go out of the door.

I am doing W5R3 tomorrow, 20 mins of running but I have been assured that what I have done in the weeks leading to this have prepared me and that I can do it.

For me going from the 3 min runs of week 3 to the 5 min runs of week 4 felt like a massive jump however I LOVED my week 4 runs and I really felt like I was making progress and getting fitter. A big thing that helped with that was following the advice to slow down, I wasn't actually sure I could go any slower but once I did it made a massive difference and I find I am smiling when I run.

Enjoy each run, stick with the plan and have confidence in yourself 'cos you can do this :)

I was there last week ! You WILL be able to do it as the strength just grows and grows, just lots of hard work 😓😂 I hit that wall today at run 1 wk 4 and broke in the first 5min block and walked for a bit 😢 rest and repeat is my motto and I’ll head back out after a rest day and try harder. You’ve done amazing to get to week three .... keep going you’ll be there in no time. It may be 9 weeks if not maybe a little longer if you feel you need to repeat a few till your strength increase, but you can do it 🏃🏽‍♀️😀🏃🏽‍♀️😀🏃🏽‍♀️😀🏃🏽‍♀️

Welcome to the forum, which was in existence long before the app, and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

I recommend that you follow the link in the guide to the post about mental approach. There is no need to be scared about any run in C25K......it is a training plan, not the Spanish Inquisition!

Take it one run at a time, relax, be positive and enjoy your journey.
