Help!!! Week 5 run 3

Hi all. My week 5 run 3 is tomorrow. I'm absolutely terrified! I managed run 2 ok but the last 2-3 mins of the last 8 min run was tough! How am I going to run 20 mins straight?! Going to get out early morning so hopefully not as hot as running at 10am like I normally do and hopefully that will help. Any advice would be great! Thanks in advance

I did it yesterday. It wasn't easy obviously but it was definitely doable and very very satisfying to finish.

I approached it as a 4 X 5 minute run (that just happened to have no walking in between 😂). I've started listening to audiobooks because I found myself adding up minutes with songs, find the books much better for running. Just the usual advice applies. Pace yourself, get comfortable, and have fun.

That's what I do with the music. I add up how long I need to run for. I'm my own worst enemy, I over analyse everything which doesn't help

Trust the program it works. You will find your breath evens out after 10 mins.

If you don't do it you can always repeat the week not many of us finish it in 9 weeks.

It will be your shortest workout since W3, so you have already done the duration.

Believe in yourself and trust the plan........it got your amazing body this far.

This might help you to eliminate any fear healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

I just want to thank you. I read your post this morning before I set off and I completed my run. I'm so proud and totally understand the buzz now!

The others have you covered. My advice is to enjoy it and be prepared for the most immense buzz afterwards.

Most of us were terrified by this run and many of us look back and remember it fondly.

After the most amazing positive post above I am absolutely buzzing for tomorrow! Don't know if I would be wise to do my normal boxing today thou or have a compleat rest day?

Only you can tell. Bear in mind the heat, stay hydrated.

agreeing with comments above, it was the run I feared the most when I looked at the plan, but I felt amazing when I had finished. Trust the programme and take it easy. Bear in mind it's hot out there so keep your fluids up today and tomorrow, and find a shady route. You can do it!
