First Parkrun since July

Was a bit nervous of going back to Parkrun after injury but everything felt OK for this morning and I have been building up the distances again this week so I decided to go for it but keep it really slow and steady and be prepared to walk if needed. But all was fine and I Japanese Slow Jogged the uphill parts and am pleased I got round the whole course with no twinges. I knew that I would be slower than back in July so didn't worry about getting a new pb - I just wanted to relax and enjoy it all. The weather was perfect, sunny and dry with a slight autumnal nip in the air. My son came too and he did get a new pb of 31:16 - I can only dream of the day when I might have to wait for HIM at the finish line, instead of him having to wait for me! 😂 Anyway, felt really good to be back - I have really missed my Saturday morning runs in beautiful Bedgebury Pinetum!

Thanks, grumpyoldgirl - it really was. I wish I'd had my phone with me to take a pic of the forest - had to leave it at home to charge up. Was quite liberating running without it though!

It's the run that's important, the forest will be there the next time you take your phone 😊

Nice to hear you’re back at parkrun... and you can’t beat a nice relaxed run with a couple of hundred others on a Saturday morning. Congratulations to your son on the PB... to beat him just tell him that a big bowl of porridge 30 minutes before a run is great. 🤣
