Hi all! I did my 3rd run today and I had to stop towards the end, my knee was hurting and I was getting massive cramp in my right inner thigh. I am very unfit I say I haven't been doing any type of exercise for many years..I am hoping to have 2 rest days and carry on?

Is there something I can do to help? Is it just beginner pain? I see people suggest to get well hydrated..well I am like a camel..

Overall I enjoyed every run and didnt get out of breath too much, only towards the end so I was very annoyed to have to stop today and hop home like a cripplešŸ™ˆ

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and includes advice on pacing, minimising impact, stretching after every run and dealing with injury, all of which may help.

The main thing is slow down...........a gentle jog is all that is required.

Enjoy your journey.

Donā€™t worry I had the same problem with my hip in week one and two. Keep stretching out. I would really recommend doing the nhs strength and flex pod cast alongside the c25k. It will help you learn how to isolate the muscle groups and donā€™t worry the c25k will give you some tips on how to place your feet when running to prevent injury. Rest is the only cure for pain and it will be no harm waiting and repeating time youā€™ve lost x good luck šŸ˜‰
