I'm 9 weeks into a hamstring tear and still not healed enough to run. I'm beginning to get impatient now!

@Winter76 I ruptured my achilles tendon beginning of May. 16 weeks later I've been allowed to start the couch to 5k and have been told to take this easy - muscle wastage is a drag!. I'm all the way back to where I was 15 years ago. It's been frustrating (aka soul destroying) but I never ever want to experience this again so am following advice to a tee..so much in fact the physio was surprised by my recovery and passed some of the rehab (stationary bike..soo boring) to go straight to running (in rehab this means a jog at the same pace as a fast walk!) and I completed week 1 run 1 on Monday..next one today. Persevere and listen to the experts..you'll be back without setting yourself back x

Thank you all for your positive and kind replies. I've been icing every day and yesterday walked our local park run course, minus the heals, very slowly! Pleased to say that this morning my hamstring feels the best it has in 10 weeks!!

I woke without pain, got out of bed; this was a trigger, pain free too.

Know I'm not healed but being painfree is so good!!

Won't attempt to go back to cs5k w1 just yet; more strengthening exercises and gentle walking but I'm finally getting there which I'd doubted i would; thought I'd never run again πŸ‘. Anyone else like me, keep faith, rest, ice and gentle strengthen and you'll get there!!

Well done, it feels impossible sometimes, it's so good to see a reminder that injuries do heal if we follow advice. However frustrating it feels at the time!

Going into wk 10 and I'm virtually ready to start the programme again, woohoo!!

I have a sports massage friday morning so just walking until then.

Bridge exercises have def helped to strength my hamstrings.

I plan to repeat c25k weeks a couple of times to rebuild the strength in my hamstrings so not rushing it. Just excited at the prospect of running very slowly at first, again!!
