Another run done - springing into September

Or possibly just shuffling! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Slightly longer than Saturday and still no twinges, the hills echoed to the sound of my heavy breathing and I'm a fetching shade of ๐Ÿ… but that felt brilliant. I think the Bridge to 10k Magic Plan is going to have to wait a while, I really don't want to overdo things and put myself back on the Injury Couch. But if I can just keep on running three times a week, then that's good enough for me. Feeling really happy right now. โ˜บ ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ ๐ŸŽ‰

๐ŸŽถ Don't stop me now... ๐ŸŽถ I can't believe that I have gone from being a total non runner to being desperate to get back out there!

Itโ€™s addictive, isnโ€™t it?

Hi Debs - I am in the same camp as you. There will be a time for 10K perhaps but for now enjoying shorter runs is more important for me. Onwards and upwards ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป

I think that's a good attitude, I want to just be able to enjoy being able to run again, with no pressure to think about time, distance, etc. I signed up for a local 10k in November and I might still give it a go but if I don't feel ready, then that is okay too. I'm still a very new runner and I want to just have fun with it for a while.

Like the way you say "the hills echoed to the sound of heavy breathing" at least it wasn't ๐ŸŽถ music.

I am glad that you enjoyed your run today and described it as brilliant, well done. ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿƒ.

Thanks, AlMorr! I was pleased not to see anyone in the woods today, I think I sounded a bit scary... ๐Ÿ˜‚

One thing that puts me off running my local event 10K is one particular hill at 7k, not the same route that I ran my first full 10K last Wednesday, I was a spectator a few years ago and the sound of the runners panting actually echoed back from houses nearby, I have never heard such loud panting before or since and that includes running at the parkruns I have ran at.

Brilliant you got out and ran with no problems. Any run is a great run no matter what the distance. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

Well done on getting back out there. The 10 k plan can wait until youโ€™re ready. Thereโ€™s no point in pushing yourself too hard! In the meantime enjoy the shorter runs ๐Ÿ˜€ I am doing the magic plan but the time one not distance I want to run for longer but wonโ€™t get to 10k yet. I can wait!

Thatโ€™s brilliant, 3 times for me too and 10k is sometime next year. But considering a few months ago I couldnโ€™t run a bath Iโ€™m happy ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’•

Well done. Being on the injury couch is so difficult. I was on it for over 6 months last year. Itโ€™s also really difficult building back up. Your doing it the right way and I wish you a full recovery and full fitness.

Iโ€™m sure youโ€™re on the right track, judging from my own experience back in April. Pushing too hard, too soon after injury only leads to trouble. Relax into it and enjoy what you are doing, and your strength will build gradually towards a good level for you.

So easy to say, however, compared to remembering it consistently! Great start, and we must all encourage each other to keep running our own runs, not anyone elseโ€™s. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ‰

Go debs - just do what works for you - that's all you can do so no point stressing about it

well done for getting back to it and not staying on the couch
