So , so sorry for the delay... I had a Race yesterday, and was in a field, in a caravan for three days, with limited WiFi access!
I am so sorry, that you awesome graduates have had to wait for your well earned badges!
Happy September everyone!
What a great time of year for runners, but wait... every month of the year is a great time for runners... just different πππ
Please leave your username here for me, so we can organise your well deserved Graduation badge.
We will try not to leave you waiting too long as we know how great it feels when your badge arrives.
( We Admins, are of course runners too and sometimes our own exciting times mean we get a bit behind on the forum
Please feel free to download and save the above Graduation badge certificate that has been kindly designed by RunaroundSue
We would like to clarify the position of earning your Graduation badge.
To get your badge, you will have completed the full training podcasts and be able to run for 30 min.
It does NOT matter if you cannot run 5 km; you are a graduate after running 30 min for three times.
To ensure that it is fair to everybody, please do not ask for your badge until you have completed Week 9 Run 3.
Many Congratulations and a Huge Well Done !
Please don't rush off from this forum too soon, our graduates bring a wealth of information, experience and encouragement to our new runners. We would love to read about your next steps, your challenges and how you overcame them, your successes and achievements etc.
So, with that in mind, do please stick around here, and, as part of your future plans, join the C25k Quest, see the pinned posts for detailsππ»ββοΈππ»
Also, when you are ready... have a look at the βWhat Nextβ post:
I am elated to say I've finished the C25K programme with the last 3 runs of Week 9 being all 5k runs!
How the heck did that happen!
Thank you to all the Admins and Mentors for the continuous amazing work you all do in this forum! Have a great week and here's to the next running journey ππΌββοΈ
At long last Iβve completed the C25K!!!! Took way longer than anticipated but did my final run this evening. Cheers for the advice and forum ππ
I'll start by saying I've been lurking on these forums for a long while now.
I started with c25k a while back and followed it all the way to about week 7 comfortably, but then had injury problems and was forced to stop running for 3 weeks.
I resumed my training but without using the app, just going out, listening to podcasts, pacing myself and timing my runs. I worked myself up to 30 minute runs and have been maintaining this time for the past 3 or 4 weeks.
My last run was 5k in under 32 minutes and I'm very proud of what I have achieved so far, but know I can now improve by running for longer, less about speed, more about distance/time.
So I have technically passed week 9, but without using any apps, just going out and doing it in my head.
Well I didn't listen to week 8 and 9, but knew the increments for each run so I did complete the course, just didn't listen to anyone telling me when to run and stop
Good evening Oldfloss, just to let you know that I successfully completed week 9 run 3 of C25k this morning. Can't believe the progress made over the last few weeks. It's rekindled my live for running after a looooong break.
I have been lurking and finding quiet support on the forum since I started the programme in May. I had an injury and then the heatwave in Europe slowed me so I had to repeat a few weeks but this morning I did my final week 9 run and covered an awfully close 4.9km during the 30 mins running! So thrilled and ready to carry on πππ
I completed W9R3 last week (7/9/19) and have since gone for a run and carried on past the 30 minute mark. π Not much by much but trying to build on it slowly.
Hello! I completed week9 run3 today and have graduated the programme. I will miss the structure of the podcasts, might carry on listening for the next few runs anyway.
Hi, completed my C25K on 06.09.19, so pleased. Not doing 5k just yet but have run to 37 minutes, just need that final push which will hopefully happen tonight and I can manage a 5k in around 40/45 minutes. Never thought I would ever do anything like this and enjoy it at the same time xx
Hi Oldfloss, can I get my graduation badge? I graduated on 11th and did the whole 5k. I also did park run today (albeit in about 39 mins but this time I ran the whole way!). Going to stick to 5 k for a few weeks before slowly increasing distance with my group.
Thanks Oldfloss. Looking forward to gradually improving. Iβve got some people in my club already doing it in 35-25 mins!! But Iβm happy to just be doing it!
Hi Oldfloss - Iβve surprised myself by completing Wk9Run3 today... I started running about 50 years ago, a bit on and off for the first 15 years or so, then it became my coping strategy for all the cr@p that life threw at me. Then about 3 years ago arthritis in my right knee and old scar tissue in left ankle made me think my running days were over. But earlier this year I decided to give it one last go - and the C25K programme was a wonderful way of forcing myself to ease back into it. Many thanks to you and the other volunteers who make it happen.
I completed C25k tonight, I haven't managed 5km yet but I'm working on it managed 4.2 k on w9r2 so will keep slowly increasing time and distance. Hopefully will do my first Parkrun in a couple of weeks. I can't thank everyone enough for all the advice on the forum it's great and the app is amazing, I never thought I would get this far.
Huge thanks to all you admins for the awesome job that you do, inspiring people like me to believe that yes, they will actually be able to run for 30 mins!
Upwards and onwards for me and Iβll certainly be sticking round on the forum β€οΈπ
Hi, I have just completed Week 9 Run 3 (which I am over the moon about)! Canβt believe how much Iβve enjoyed it! Loved this forum for all its support ππββοΈ
What a programme, 9 weeks ago I like many others struggled with 60sec and now here I am running for 30 minutes, it definitely works and well worth the effort, onwards and upwards. Thank you to all admin, graduates, mentors and everyone else who takes the time to offer support and advice
Hello Oldfloss and all runners and lurkers. Iβd like to share an update on my story with everyone and say a big thanks for helping me get back into a regular running routine. So, having graduated last October for the first time, I suffered a nasty broken wrist falling off my bicycle. I lost my routine and gradually gave up for completely for several months. Happy to report that with the help and encouragement of one or two very wonderful people and one fellow runner in particular, I have completed the C25K for the second time in 12 months. I have a regular run schedule now and have enjoyed both dawn, morning, afternoon and dusk runs over the summer and early autumn. Iβm in the happy position of enjoying an endorphin reward following my runs and have gradually added a few extra minutes and Kms to my consolidation runs. I intend to join the next intake of bridge to 10k and was wondering if there is any more by way of reading via links. Iβm not too obsessed with pace etc at mo, mostly because I am quite slow, averaging around 7-7:30 per km depending on terrain and course. I have the opportunity to join a local running group who meet twice per week, once for a road run, 6-10km in a couple of groups and second meet at a track, for Fartlek type drills and so forth. Most of them then do a solo run or Parkrun or other event on the weekend. I work Saturdays but have found I can fit in a Friday eve or Sat dawn run before work. I am enjoying a couple 1-2 hours on my bike, again with company, too. I feel Iβmb really making some good progress and feeling so positive about virtually everything again, which is a joy. Even the Brexit situation isnβt getting to me. I have managed to get this far injury free and have a pre and post run/ cycle active stretching routine which I follow properly. I feel that as I gradually add a little more distance and lose a little more weight along with building up more stamina, I would like to ask if anyone has tried yoga classes to improve their flexibility/suppleness and core strength. I would like to end by saying a big and sincere heartfelt thankyou to all contributors and administrators on this forum, you people are THE BEST there is. Blessings and love to you all and wishing you Happy miles of running.
Just completed the final run on the treadmill (5k in 32:24), with just over a week to go until my 5k Zombie Evacuation Race
Saturday morning will be my 3rd ParkRun, but my first without Laura. Will be interesting to see how things go without a little pat on the back every 5 mins or so
Wow! I completed W9R3 yesterday. Feel fab, but even now I'm trying to keep imposter syndrome in check as I can't quite believe it. Next steps are consolidation runs, then the cherry on the cake - parkrun. Bring it on
I've only gone and blooming done it. Week 9 run 3 done this morning 30 minutes non stop. Please can I be a graduate? Looking forward to using the tips and hints to get faster and run further. Blue_Sapphire
Hi I completed week 9 run 3 this morning, I managed to run 5k in 35 minutes, C25K has completely changed everything for me, 9 weeks ago I couldnβt run a bath let alone any sort of distance.
Hi I completed W9R3 on Thursday this week. Feels great to master the half an hour, I am a way off 5k though π£. Will be adding 5 mins after every 3 runs and will hopefully get there soon!
Hi all, Iβm completely amazed I have just completed Week 9 run 3. I havenβt posted before but I have found the forum inspiration on my wee journey. Thank you
You are more than welcome..it is really great for us to be acknowledged...we are all unpaid volunteers and sometimes just getting a cursory post with just a name..on the Grad badges link, can be a little disheartening...so thank you..I will pass this on to the team x
Hi I am so excited I have finished wk 9 run 3 injury free on September 23rd and look forward to continuing even though i am not sure what that will be yet.
I've graduated π. Huge thanks to each and every member of this warm community for your support, advice and encouragement but especially the administrators. Looking forward to consolidating and increasing my distance.
