Anyone else daunted? 20 min run are they kidding . Only run 8 mins, no idea how I’ll make it. Any tips?

I felt the same but I did it. Trust the plan. If you’ve done all the other runs you can do this. Just go at a slow steady pace.

You can do it. And there is no feeling like it when you complete that run

Thanks for the motivation. Needed that

If you can do 8 mins then you can do 20. It's more of a psychological barrier than physical(well in my case anyway). You might need to slow down a bit, just don't stop. Also found it useful if you don't look at how long you've been running for, just carry on till the app says you've finished. 👍 Good luck

I know exactly how you feel! I remember being all chuffed with myself doing the 8 minutes and then looking at the next week and seeing 20.. I did do it....every time I thought I needed to stop, I just kept saying yo myself you can do this and you will too! You are doing great! Just take it slowly I don't know if you have seen the film on Japanese running on you tube. This has really helped me. Good luck and let us know how you get on 😊🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

This rings so true for me, the run in the early weeks where Laura(?) Advises to land on your whole foot and another run where she describes not bouncing, so if you were running along hedge someone on the other side shouldnt able tell if you're running or walking. These two details really helped with my technique. This video also explains why I prefer my nike flex trainers to my nike air.

Well done with your runs so far! You're doing great! Take it really slowly, enjoy the fresh air and just keep putting one foot in front of the other! You can do it! 🍀

The program has been preparing your body for this, trust it and just go slow and steady.

If the Gremlins start just keep saying to yourself, one more minute (but as already stated, try to not look at the time you've been running).

The secrets really are, trust the program, go slow and steady and believe in yourself.

Enjoy the run.

Like everyone says the programme works so don’t let it bother you that it’s a 20minute run. You will probably find that after your 8 minutes your body will be happy to just keep going. It’s amazing what you can do, keep😁

I did W5R3 yesterday and woke this morning still in shock that I did it. I tried not to think about it too much beforehand and just decided to keep a really slow pace and do by best as I knew it was a huge jump and I was convinced I couldn’t do it but once I got told only 2 mins left I upped my speed and finished. Was too elated to feel tired. Most enjoyable run so far, I’m getting bored of the walking 😀

It honestly isn't as bad as it seems. I always find the first minutes the hardest, after that the half way mark is my target and once I'm there it's a home run. Not sure why but I do tend to find the second half so much easier no matter the time. You got this! Just give it your best shot and keep putting one footing front of the other (as Jo regularly tells me on my runs) x

You can do this just take it slow and steady. I had to change my pace when I got to this stage but that's OK as it meant I could complete it

It may seem daunting, I too felt like you but you absolutely can do it and when you do you will be so pleased with yourself.

Just follow and trust the programme plenty of fluids before, go slow and take your time. I find I enjoy so much more with music 🎧 you can and will do this. Don’t go too fast that is the key. Plenty of time later to work on speed. Good luck and come back and tell us how you got on.

When I first saw it I thought it must be a mistake. I will come clean and admit that I didn’t quite manage it first try, but I blame the fact that I nearly fell over a dog a couple of minutes in 😂. If you’ve completed the earlier runs you should be fine. Just take it really slowly and avoid dogs!

Hi NewrunnerGP! Well done for getting this far! Honestly, you've already done the hardest runs. 20 minutes seems like it will be impossible but slow your pace a bit and you'll be fine. Most of us have wondered how the heck we'll do 20 minutes but we all do!

Remember that it's actually less total run time than your last one too 😊 and you might find it feels a bit easier in a way because you can find a pace and stick at it, rather than stop starting.

Go and run and let us know how you get on 👍

Did you do it? I just finished. It was a very slow shuffle but it was ok. Next week looks easier!!

Well done. However some people get caught with the next week so take it slowly.
