To run or not to run?

Had a pain start middle back of left calf, was definitely worse when running, so bit bullet and went to physio who said no running for 6 weeks. Overuse of legs; strange as I’m a reluctant runner!

So four weeks ish since pain started (two since seeing physio) I went to my local park run to do the pre course check, which meant I was there for the start of the run, well what’s a girl to do but join in?! I was sort of good, ours is a three lapper so I slow jogged one lap and walked the other two. Still feeling fine two days later but it’s so hot and I was told not to so I guess I’ll wait another few days before running again. Looked at foam rollers, I wonder if they would help. Must ask physio next time I see her, and also an exactly what is wrong.

If she said no running then hold off. If she said overuse then a massage stick used daily or every other day would be a big help. I use this one daily and have done for a couple of years. Made a huge difference to calves.

Calves are actually pretty easy to self massage, or even just use a rolling pin.

If you're itching to get out a walk is always a good option or a cycle if you have one! 👍🏻😁

Thanks, I do walk most days, just got the bike out of hibernation needs a service as the gears are a bit iffy. Will invest in a massage stick.
