Blimey....dare I say that it's getting a tiny bit easier....?!?

After posting a few weeks ago after wk1r1 that I hated every second of it, I have had some weeks of 3 runs and some weeks of no runs, all a bit half hearted really....always hating every second of it. I have been repeating week 1 each time in the vain hope that it may become easier at some point, but not really believing that it will. Well this week, (now I may be imagining this), but it does seem a bit easier. I'm not quite so out of breath and not feeling like I'm about to have a coronary after every run. Blimey - could it be working after all?! Additionally, this week I haven't hated every second of it, for the first time. I may even make it to week 2 sometime soon. Hurrah!

Brilliant I'm so glad you're beginning to enjoy running and it just keeps getting better. Just keep doing what you are it seems to be working. Well done 😊😊

Great, don’t hold yourself back for too long as you won’t be getting the real sense of achievement that you get when you push yourself further. The breathing really does get easier.

Thanks, I think another week of week 1 just to make sure, then I may be ready for week 2.

Well done for keeping going. It does get easier, I’m in week 6 now yet I was a bit like you at the start. I was worried about moving on to the next week, but as you progress you get a wonderful feeling of achievement. Keep going!

Woohoo! Well done! 😃

Go super slow and you may well amaze yourself with W2!! ( A turning point for me was someone telling me that it’s ok to run at walking pace- just making the running movement. Good luck! 😄

Well done. If I'm being hones, I found the first couple of weeks with all the repetitions mindnumbingly dull. It was only as the runs got longer, with fewer repeats that I started to get into my stride, as it were.

Good job keeping with it, but I would try and move on if you can. There's no need to repeat full weeks, only individual runs you don't complete.

Thanks. I think one more week of week 1, then I'll move on.

You’re doing great and it’s getting easier, which is good, but what’s making you repeat? If it’s fear of succeeding I get that, but you’re gonna so you may as well get on with it! If it’s fear of failure... then that’s a fear of nothing... when you cross a start line then there is only victory possible, even if you don’t complete the run... indeed crossing that line is a victory, getting to that line is a victory, getting your shoes laced is a victory, deciding to run in the first place is a victory. Keep hitting those 4 victories every run day and the rest will come.

Happy running.

Thanks. I think I have been reluctant to move on to week 2 because I have found week 1 so difficult, so I wanted to repeat that week until I felt that it was getting a little easier. Otherwise if week 2 is too hard, I will go back to hating it, then I know I will risk just giving up altogether (any excuse), so I'd rather stay with week 1 just for a bit longer. One more week I think!

Sounds reasonable... we have to at least not hate it... and it’s difficult to love it in the early weeks! Let the love grow slowly as you amaze yourself with your own abilities.

My first ever run, I thought what the hell have I do. My leg muscles were not used to running and my breathing was erratic. Persevere with the programme, it is there to develop your stamina and get those muscles working again. If you need to repeat a run or a week you can do. Don’t forget your rest day. 🏃‍♀️
