That’s where I’m up to too! I completed the whole C25K 5 years ago when I was 50, loved it and was doing 4 miles a day for a year, then 3 parents with Alzheimer’s took over. Just started again at 55, chubbier & slower, but determined to do it. Stick at it, such a great feeling when you complete a run 👍🏻 I use Strava and find it so good to look back at all my runs going back to 2015 when I started. I’ll watch out for you, you can be MY motivation to keep going 😁

It is all new and unknown territory for you now :) That's what makes it hard to "relax and enjoy" running in the early days - we haven't a clue what to expect :)

I honestly never believed I would graduate when I started. I was bored to death and figured trying to complete W1 would distract me. Then I figured I'd "probably" finish W3 and "wouldn't it be great to be able to do W4"....

It will get different if you keep at it :) These days I'm "wishing" my recent sidelining with illness hadn't completely knackered me for a HM I want to do next month :) This programme is miraculous :)

Wishing you many happy miles in your future :)

Many runs, especially those early ones can be hard hit and miss. I didn't enjoy some of them, some were so uncomfortable with my body completely unprepared. Obviously, you then question the whole thing, question whether that's the right thing for you to pursue, what's the point if there's no joy. Well, joy comes and goes, and then stays for longer periods once your grow stronger and the muscles tune into the new exercise. We were all in the same boat. I struggled like hell in the beginning and eventually trained and completed the marathon (I would lie if l said that was easy and enjoyable). The only constant thing that carried me through was my motivation. You must have something that made you take up all this, right? Weight, fitness, general health, anything else? That's your motivation, and remember that if you stop you will return right to where you were when you decided to change and improve. Nobody wants that.

Bang on as usual Mrrun. We can always get our "Couchlife" back if we really want to :)

Wise advice thank you. I will stick at it. My legs are aching so I’m going to rest for a couple of days before my next run.
