Week 5 Run 3- I only done it!

After repeating W5R2 twice as I was dreading run 3, I finally completed run 3 today. I was so nervous last night I hardly slept! Total anxiety attack! 10 minutes into the run it dawned on me that I could do it! I couldn't be prouder.

Aww, that's amazing, well done! I was terrified of that run too and the first ten minutes of any run seem to be the hardest, before you find your mojo 😁It's definitely a lot to do with mind over matter - keep that mindset 😊

Thank you so much for your positive reply. I can't believe that I was dreading a 3 minute run a few weeks ago. A friend advised me to stay slow, play slow music and just keep going. By jove it worked!

Week 5 run 3 is purely psychological, yes it's a good run but the program prepares your body for it, it's you that needs to prepare your mind.

Now here's a good little mantra for you:

If I can run for 20 minutes, I can run for 25,

If I can run for 25 minutes, I can run for 28,

If I can run for 28 minutes, I can run for 30,

If I can run for 30 minutes then I can graduate.

Good luck with the rest of your runs, be careful though, week 6 run 1 & 2 are interval runs again and they can throw you a little after the 20 minutes you've just done.

Congratulations, you deserve to be very proud of yourself on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran, I bet you'll sleep better tonight.

Thanks for the advice. I'm hoping for that too and the few G&T's I've had will also help!
