Pleass tell me the next run is easier.

I'm not overly struggling to do it. I managed to finish it but it seems as though I'm clock watching, not like I was doing W5R3.

To make things worse, I had one guy next to me running at a very fast pace (I do it on a treadmill, I'm not confident enough to it on the road because where I live its constantly hill after hill) and the woman the other side was walking at the pace I was running.

I'm not going to dwell on it but it was kind of off putting.

Just carry on at your own pace.... but... if you could get outside? Many of us have hills..lots of them... is there a park or a canal path or a track anywhere?

You can take things slow and steady and be totally sure of your pace:)

I run hills for fun now and did have to practice running on the flat before my HM :)

Well done you... do it your way, but maybe think about getting out there?

I live in the valleys so on the side of the mountain, we normally do have a running track but it's being dug up to sort out drainage and wont be open again for a few months. :(

Oh blow. Well.. stick with it..get your ear phones on and just block them out..

When I run and anyone whizzes past me...I tell myself that they've only run 1K!

Completely with Oldfloss: running outside is brilliant, as long as you have safe and reasonably quiet places to go. If you have to run in the gym, remind yourself that everyone is different and will be training for different things. Slow and steady is the way through this particular programme. And your speedy neighbours may have woken this morning with pulled muscles and shin splints, while you feel fine 😄

You are doing so well. Running on treadmill makes it difficult to judge how far you have got left to go which won’t help with clock watching. I started the first few runs on treadmill and then ventured outside and it is much more fun. Can understand concerns about hills though - they are not fun!

Don’t worry about pace though. Slow is def way to go. Oh and first couple of runs in week 6 a lot of people seem to find tough for some reason. Good luck

The next run is easier!

I agree with the others, if you go outside you can enjoy the surroundings, and not be putting extra pressure on by comparing yourself to others.

I am not a fan of hills either and have been known to run in circles for the last 0.5 km rather than finish on a hill!

You can do it😊

I agree with the theme of the great outdoors... however, if you are using a treadmill even some of the time, you could try swapping about what you listen to. As well as favourite music, I also listen to radio 4 podcasts - Desert Island Discs, The Food Programme, Woman’s Hour, The Archers etc - all good distraction! 😀

Could you start to mix inside and outside?

- As to the off putting people alongside - blinkers??!! 😂 😄
