Week 5, Run 3 done, altitude is real!

I was shocked that I was able to run for 20 minutes! I had to basically stop running a few years ago because of back pain, so I've been running on dirt trails and a track at a local school. So anyway, we went to California to visit my brother, and I did Week 5 run 2 there... and seriously coming from 7000 feet altitude, running at sea level was A LOT easier. So much easier that I repeated the run when we came home because it almost felt like it didn't count and I was afraid to move on to run 3. Doing the same run here was a lot harder. Do any of you run at altitude? Have you done (intentionally or unintentionally) this experiment?

Only elete runners train at altitude for the likes of the Olympics etc, congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran, better running at sea level, 🏃😊

Thank you! I wish I was an athlete like that! I just happen to live at 7000 feet... My daughter who runs track says it's easier to run at 5000 feet which is the city about an hour away (the largest city in our state). They are always happy to go there for meets.
