First 5K since Graduating

I’m really happy with myself this morning as I have only gone and done it!!! Hooray to me !!!

Yep one happy runner as I clocked up my first 5K. I kept going slow and steady and pushed myself through. Time was about 45 minutes and I am happy with that also.

It can achievable. To my fellow Couches still struggling, keep to the programme and keep your pace slow. It can be done and you can do it too.

Happy running 🏃‍♀️

That first real 5 km is a great feeling. Are you ready for a parkrun yet? All power to you.

I think I probably will. I won’t be able to do this Saturday as I am working. I think the next thing to do is a parkrun and hopefully join a local club for the social side of things.

I’m really happy with my progress.

Well done. That's about the same as my time. I have done it faster but my comfortable pace is around 45 mins

That’s so brilliant! It’s such a moment - and 45 mins is fine! Did you know you use the same calories running 5k if you run it fast or slow - it’s the distance not the speed that counts!

I didn’t know about the calorie thing Discorunner.

I just need to do a few more 5K runs and I think I might try a parkrun next week as I am working this Saturday. Thank you for all your supportive comments. 🙏

Well done! You are certainly ready for Parkrun. I did 5k in just over 46 minutes, the first time, and was not the slowest! Go for it! 😁
