It’s my 6 month runniversary!

It’s 6 months today since I started on the Couch to 5k programme. In that time I’ve fallen completely in love with running and run 3 times a week with added strength work. I’ve not yet hit 5k but since starting Ju-Ju’s magic running plan over on the Bridge to 10k community I’m expecting to hit it in the next 2-3 weeks

You may wonder how I’m celebrating this joyous occasion. Well I’m currently sitting at home in front of the fan cursing the heat that’s preventing me from getting out there more than once this week. There’s a word for this, it’s rangry, defined as how you feel when you’re unable to run due to injury or other things (like stupid heat!) preventing you from going for a run when you want to. So here I am, with my fan, celebrating my 6 months of running by being rangry 😤😩😭😂

Only thing it's good for was I got all the bedcovers and washing dry 😂

I wish! My daughter has hay fever so I can’t even hang the washing out cos it gets covered in pollen

I love this post, 6 months after starting and you’re still aspiring to hit 5k, well done you, this makes me feel that I’m not failing having finished the programme running a mere 3.4k maximum! I’ve even avoided hitting the ‘graduated’ button because I don’t feel I’m ‘there’ yet. Celebrate, that’s a massive achievement, I hope to keep it up post graduation now and press that button. I hope the rangryness passes soon x

You may not have got to 5k but you are definitely a graduate, you completed the programme after all. Don’t focus too much on the 5k, just do some consolidation runs n then gradually extend one run a week n you’ll be there soon enough. Hop on over to Bridge to 10k (you don’t have to want to do 10k) n have a look at Ju-Ju’s magic plan, I’ve doubled my distance since I started on it 5 weeks ago (I was only doing just over 2k when I graduated 😂😂) n there’s lots of fab support and ideas for us graduates. Happy running! X
