It’s been a couple of days since my last run and I seem to be getting some mild pain in my right hip, inner thigh and knee, not sure if it’s my age or an injury I should be concerned about? I really don’t want to miss a run, although I’m consolidating at the moment and it does seem to ease when I’m walking, so should I just see how the next run goes or leave it until the discomfort goes away??
Age or injury?: It’s been a couple of days since... - Couch to 5K
Age or injury?
What other exercise are you putting in on some of your rest days?
I’ll be honest I haven’t done much on my rest days due to my job, it’s been busy with the weather we are having and I’ve been flat out
It is tricky..but it does help...strength and flex..walking.. a swim..just a simple stretching regime...if you work one out..it becomes a habit....we head to keep the rest of us on a par with the running legs..
The weather is making it harder at the moment..😎
Been doing a fair few miles in big boots and fire gear which hasn’t helped, even staying hydrated has been a challenge I just really don’t want to loose my new habit, maybe some well placed stretches will help after a nice steady run in the morning? 🤪🤪🤘🤪🤘
Hot!! How old are you..? The post run stretches (as in the post for Newbies) are great..loads of us used and still use them..
I’m 47 does that make a difference? 😂😂
Nope..it was just when you said in your post.. your age or injury.. I am 69.... so that might apply .. except I never assume it is my age... ! I have a daily workout regime... it makes a huge difference
Get the stretches in...

Try to get some walks in minus the gear,( not naked though
Warm up, could include donkey kicks etc, etc, to get the legs going too... try these maybe?

Oh good lord, believe me, naked isn’t an option!! 😂😂🤪 thank you for the links 🤪🤘🤪🤘
I'm in pain all the time if that helps. If I went to the doctor with pains in my legs I'd be going every day. But if you're concerned about it, get it checked out.
Being in pain all the time isn’t good, I have a fair few aches from years of playing rugby when I was younger but that’s just it I’m not concerned and don’t know if I should be 😂😂
I have aches/niggles.. I just expect to be aching a bit more now. I'm the same age as Federer, so technically I could still win Wimbledon (in my mind) but I don't have a problem being a bit stiff after a 5k.
😂😂 I feel at my age my input at Wimbledon would be similar to Cliff Richard 😂😂
😂..Seriously though rich, i'm talking aches, if you have pain or anything that's concerning you go see your GP fella.
Thanks for the advice, it really doesn’t concern me, but that just the stubborn part of my nature, I once finished a game of rugby with a fractured cheek 😂😂
You're starting to sound like my granddad Rich, he played for featherstone rovers, and then went to war.. they were hard as nails in those days... and starving.
They were hard as nails and I couldn’t ever claim to be starving, personally I was just stupid 😂😂
Neither of you are very old on this forum but I know what Hidden means about the constant pain.
However, if this is a new pain and it's only one leg then it sounds like something is wrong. Is it getting better or worse?
If it's getting better just manage it. If it's getting worse or is persistent then get it looked at.
Decent physio is your best bet. Should cost much less than a decent pair of running shoes.
Maybe a few extra rest days to see if it helps . Good luck 😊
