You are an athlete, you ARE a runner, no two things about it, completing C25K is amazing and an amazing plan. It makes you realise that you are amazing too and what your body is really capable of.
Awesome! well done I've lost quite a few kg since changing my eating habits. I track my calories which can get a bit laborious & sometimes I'm guesstimating a bit but all I do is eat in a calorie deficit (don't go too hard on this as your body needs good nutrition to function) about 500kcal under what I should be consuming that & talking any opportunity to be more active, also I try to make sure the food I am eating are whole foods whenever possible (fruits, vegetables, actual cuts of meat instead of processed stuff & going for complex carbs instead of simple ones like bread etc). I think I may have pushed a bit too hard this last couple of weeks as I feel a bit burned out by not having any rest days (strength 4 times a week, cto5k 3) so am taking the week off from my strength training to recuperate. I used to destroy an entire pack of bourbon biscuits with a cup of tea, eat way too much bread, pastries & other daft things like that (too many takeouts etc), if you think about your eating you'll know what you need to cut. With that said Davo123 hit the nail on the head.
Another thing to bear in mind is that when we're inactive for a long time then start exercising is that our bodies maybe burning fat & building muscle with muscle being 3 times as dense as fat you may have lost some fat mass & gained some lean mass with your overall weight staying the same.
Sorry another thing: I use an app called myfitnesspal to track calories & it 'talks' to my garmin connect app (although I think the garmin app is a bit generous with calories burned so I keep that in mind when eating) so I can see what I've burned vs what I've consumed.
I’m trying to watch what I eat due to high cholesterol, although I’m not counting calories. I’m hoping C25K will help reduce it but I’m also eating a lot of fruit, vegetables, salad and fish. I don’t think the ruby Murray and 🍺🍺🍺 on a weekend help though!!
