I’ve been a gym goer for a while - not consistent dipping in and out - today was a first for me - day 1 of couch to 5k and for the first time ever I ran on the treadmill - feeling a great sense of achievement so hoping I can keep going . My problem is my motivation I just can’t keep it going - any tips ??

You need to set yourself run 'days', then stick to them, no if's no buts, I normally do Monday, Wednesday and Friday as it gives me the ability to change things if my work or life needs it to but I ensure I run normally on those days, it only takes a few weeks for it to become a habit.

Also, don't try going too fast, while it may be easy enough to do a good speed over 60 second sprints it may not be easy keeping to that speed as the weeks progress.

Slow and steady.

I’m the same as leeu I have Tuesday Thursday Saturday as run days. No excuses. My best runs have come from days when I’ve not been feeling it beforehand. I think by about week 4 the structure of keeping to ‘run days’ became part of my weekly routine.

Slow and steady, hydrate and post often. Congrats on getting started x
