First day!
Good on you! I started just before my 65th birthday and had a similar past, yet managed to graduate. Follow the mentors’ advice about going slowly, rest days, post run stretches etc and you will be amazed what you can achieve.
Welcome, Fimack!! You've joined a wonderfully supportive group - all ages and abilities, nothing but encouragement. When I started a few weeks ago, I hadn't ever run before (sports, rabid animal attacks, nada), but I found that the more I posted and shared my experiences, the more I enjoyed it and learned that I could do this! So can you!
Looking forward to your posts! Happy running!
With the help of this group you will get there 👍🏻

You’re in good company here, and I hope you have a great start to the programme, as so many of us have done.
Good luck for your W1 runs (and all the rest of course)
Welcome to the forum.
This plan may change your life, as it has done for so many already.
Enjoy your journey.
I am 60, and several stones overweight, will be doing R3 W5 tomorrow. My sons fell about laughing when I said I was going to do this, only because they know I detest running. Or used to. The programme is brilliant, I only managed 45 seconds of my first ever run. Did 8 minutes twice yesterday. I did invest in a decent pair of trainers at the beginning of week 3 and that has really helped, less achey knees! This forum is great, so supportive, you can do it. Go you!
