A glimmer of hope....

Following on from my back to where it began post I managed to run a grand total of 17 minutes this morning. I quit whilst I was ahead with the knee registering only a very mild twinge. No idea of the distance but that's the last thing on my mind at the moment. Followed the run with a good 10 minutes of self torture on the foam roller......... I'm tempted to treat myself to a proper sports massage. I've noticed that rolling my left IT Band is significantly more painful than my right.

Have you seen this?

m.youtube.com/watch?v=9L2b2...

It’s the Japanese slow jogging technique and designed to avoid injury. I run this way all the time because I love it, but also because it means I can run for long durations without pain. Perhaps it’ll work for you in this recovery mode?

There are several aspects to it so it’s worth watching a few times - and practice the jumping part so you get the soft landing.

Hope it helps!

Thanks for the link. I have seen this before but to be honest I never gave it a thought. I'm definitely going to be watching and trying out the technique on Sunday.....
