W6r2 A bit of a slog

Well, this run was better than Monday’s, which was horrible. I really felt the toxic ten, and was just coming out of it when I had to walk! 😡

I recovered very well during the three minute walk, and was ready to go again. However, after about two minutes, I was running on fumes again. I pushed through, even though what I was doing could hardly be classified as slow jogging, let alone running, as my feet seemed to be glued to the road. After a few minutes of desperate struggle, when I seriously considered walking, I found some new energy, and off I went again. I even managed to lengthen my pace and speed up for the last thirty seconds, although my running buddies are consistently faster than me in all stages of the run. One is nearly 71, and she puts me to shame. 🥺

I had music this evening, and that definitely helps me. I don’t think I will ever run without it now. I know it’s rather antisocial on my running buddies, but I’m in this for me! Thankfully, they understand.

Again, no euphoria or elation, just glad I didn’t cave in and give up. Friday, run 3, I’m coming for you! 🤨

Thank you so much! I’m really hoping that Friday’s run (25 minutes) will be more like W5r3 was. I found that relatively easy (or maybe my memory is fooling me! 😁). I do find intervals tricky. Thankfully they’re over now. Phew!

The intervals must be there for a reason, but I admit to them messing me up a bit when they reappeared for those two week 6 runs. Enjoy your next run 😊

Well done. You’re doing it! 👏🏼 And the intervals are behind you now, so a better chance of settling into a rhythm. 👍😊

You've got this ! That was the last of the intervals so you won't have to interrupt your running now. Let us know how Friday goes

Well done for persevering. When the feet stick to the floor it's so draining, like wading through treacle (I would imagine,!) But you made it and you didn't give up! Maybe there is no euphoria this time but at least there is no disappointment. You will smash run three.....sounds like you are on a mission!

Thank you! I am! I’m fed up with being fat and unfit! 😞

Sometimes just not caving in is the best you can expect. I had one of those on Tuesday... couldn't wait for my 30 minutes to end and didn't run a step further!!

Well done for beating it - you will be fitter and more mentally resilient for it.

Music all the way for me - I only ever run without it at parkrun and that's because I tend to chat all the way round. :)

You are doing brilliantly! Don't let the odd bad run spoil your enjoyment of the others. :)
