Firstly I'd like to say thanks for all of your comments and advice the other day when I thought I had 'failed' on my first run. Reading through all the responses made me realise that I hadn't failed at all, I had actually won the battle of getting out there and giving it a go. Thank you.
So, feeling spurred on, and armed with my sparkly new Garmin..... I went and had another go at W1R1. Faired better this time. I went out at 9pm....much cooler. Wore actual socks instead of trainer socks which helped with the rubbing ankle. This evening I managed 3x 1min runs. Still going to take a while to get to the finish of it but slow and steady wins the race.

Fabulous!! I find just getting into my running kit and out the door after a long work day a battle. Well done for giving it a go. Post often, looking forward to hearing your progress
Good on you! I just picked up a Garmin vivoactive 3. Before that I was using the samsung health app on my phone, under exercises - running it has light walking coach (30mins) after doing that for a while I then moved the slider across onto brisk walk coach (50mins brisk) the next one was jogging coach (30mins jog) which made me think whoa! I haven't ran for quite some time so I found this app & am progressing nicely! Keep on keeping on, you can do this!
Well done MissChunk! We knew you could do it! Just keep on doing a bit more each time and before long you’ll wonder how you got so far! Don’t forget to let us know how you get on!
You know the 2 full run segments and the 3 full run segments? I don't know how you are approaching it but as someone else who was a long way adrift of the full 8 at the beginning I found the strategy of walking the rest of the session and not attempting to run again the moment I couldn't keep running in a run segment really seemed to strengthen the determination muscles rather than anything more ad hoc.
Well done, Miss Chunk! I feel that I’m at the same stage so I’m encouraged to keep working at this too! My legs feel like lead weights this evening but it’s just one step at a time!
