Thank you for all the encouraging replies...went back out this morning to repeat this run and I’ve done it with no stitches or pain....😂... must be the new socks. The trains tried to get me at 20 mins as I approached the level crossing and the barriers were coming down so I just turned around and went back in the direction I was coming from. 3 times that happened this morning, (did not know that many trains went through our station in an hour). Also did my gait analysis on Sunday and I’m a neutral, expecting to get new running shoes today to start off wk7 on Thursday. I’m officially a runner!!!👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Sunday’s Post
Soooo... my first failed attempt. Felt pretty good starting out this morning , didn’t think about the run at all yesterday and was having fun as I ran on the wooded trail by the murky river until I got to 21 minutes, then felt a stitch (first time since I started the program) I slowed right down but just could not keep going so had to slow to a walk with 3 minutes to go...☹️☹️☹️...I’m so gutted.
Was going to reward myself with some running shoes after my gait analysis this afternoon...might still do..maybe a new pair of running shoes (and proper hydration) will bring me better form when I try again on Tuesday!!!

Well done! Look at this from the other angle, you’ve got this far without needing to repeat- that is a feat in itself! At the beginning I was repeating all the time but you know what it doesn’t matter if you repeat, the end result is the same! You’ll eventually get to the 30 minutes running! Get your gait done especially if you think that you need’ll need a structured shoe. I’m on the beginning of Week 6 and have had to repeat again, having not had to for a while so yesterday I got my gait done as I suspected I needed a structured shoe and I was right. I’ll get to test run them later. Onwards and upwards!
So annoying with only 3 minutes to go BUT once you get your gait analysis, new recommended shoes and socks to match I am sure you will be able to run, run 3 of week 6 with no problems whatsoever, good luck for Tuesday.
Don’t feel gutted with just three minutes left out of 25.
You know the next three scheduled runs are exactly the same as this one. If it were me, and I managed the next three without issue, I’d confidently move on to W8.
One trick with a stitch is to push out and down with your belly muscles when breathing in and pull them in when breathing out. After doing that for a few breaths, do the exact opposite for a few breaths. Keep switching back and forth until the stitch eases.
If nothing else it'll give you something to do to take your mind off it. 😉
