So, after completing the W5 20 min run a few weeks back, life got in the way and I haven’t run since then.

Tonight I was able to get out and do W6R1.

If I am honest, I had been dreading it slightly and putting it off a bit for the last couple of days. What with the break from running and the fact that I know that it apparently trips a lot of people up.

Maybe I just built it up in my head a bit too much and the doubts crept in? I don’t know. Anyway, I did it, and it was absolutely fine.

I should have had more faith in the program I suppose, it’s designed in increments for a reason. I just took the good advice from the community to take it gently, and it actually felt great.

I suppose the lesson for myself is that I should relax more and worry less. Perhaps the break did me a bit of good too. It’s taught me to try not to be too apprehensive about the runs, I think, to take them as they come and enjoy them.

It supposed to be fun isn’t it.

So having been apprehensive about it, I now find myself actually looking forward to the next one.

For me at least it’s as much a mental thing at the moment as a physical thing, and it’s important to try to stay positive.

That’s why the group here is so important, it’s so good to read, and to benefit from the experience of others.

Onwards and upwards.

Thanks Buddy. Am trying to cut down on both the procrastination and the over-thinking, neither are particularly helpful! 🙄
