I find Week 6 really hard! Is it because I have moved my runs to the evening after work instead of mornings? But I thought it was really hard tonight. I am a little worried that I reached a peak at week 5 and did a glorious 20' with the week 3 and now it looks like I am going downhill which is a little depressing?
If I stay positive, yes, I recover quicker, and yes I am less red and I am not panting as much but somehow I find it harder. But of course I did it - pride - but I was very very close to stop on the second 10 minutes.
is it normal?
And does anyone has some tips to be prepared to run after work?
thank you!

Just take all your runs a little slower than you have been recently, drink plenty of water the day before you run, have a extra day off running and I am sure you will continue with the first of the longer runs that do not have interval walks which is run 3 of week 6.
Yes, me too. I did the first 5 weeks early in the morning as I was between jobs and had a bit of time off. This week is my first week in a new role and I can only run after work. There is no way I can run before work as I get up at 6am, and no way I get up at 5am. I just wonder how long it is going to take to adjust (if I actually adjust!).
I find I take a bit longer to get going in evenings so I walk a little then start the program so I am walking longer than the 5 minutes brisk walk before the run starts and seem to find that easier.
It’s like my body is adjusting after sitting at work then the drive home.
It will come. You just need to give your body time to adjust to your new way of working out.
My second evening run I went back a week on the program and repeated the previous workout because I struggled so much on the first evening run!
Now I just take my time with the warm up and it’s ok.
I did almost all my runs in the evening. My biggest tip to you would be set a day and time during the week and stick to going out then. It was to easy to make excuses for not going out on a run. Commitment to the programme is key to achieving successfully completing this to the end
I will do this. I did push a run by one day once but then had no alternative than to do it or I would not fit 3 runs with rest days in a week and would have to do the week again.
Am dreading the heat a bit next week but I will stick to my runs as you suggest. The feeling of achievement is too great to miss!
Maybe the evening is making a difference, you have already been up for hours and done a days work!.
I found week 6 tough, mainly because I thought after week 5 run 3 it would be easier, which of course it isn't. I was glad to leave the intervals behind me.
Keep well hydrated, take it slowly, you are doing great 🤩🤩
Thank you! I guess I will just have to adapt as I won’t go running at 5am (then again I had sworn I couldn’t run and here I am).
I also found week 6 difficult and glad I won’t have to do intervals. I really wonder why the intervals make it harder as I thought they would help.
In your experience when does the running become easier and more enjoyable? I dont knwo if you would agree but I dont think it’s a fitness issue but more a mental resistance issue ?
Don't expect to enjoy all your runs, but always enjoy the achievement after them!😊
This is early in your running journey, at some point it will seem easier. It takes time, but each run increases your stamina. If you did week 1 now you would definitely feel a difference.
For me, I have stopped pushing too hard and now set off with a minimum time in mind, and try not to think about pace or distance. This morning it was already 16°C at 06.00, so I thought 25 minutes, but did 35.
I have gone running at 04.30, but I wouldn't make a habit of it😂
It is harder from w6. W5r3 is such a buoyant run w6 can be a shock.
I run after work; my biggest tip is don't sit down. Straight in, change and out. Do not pause for anything other than loo! If you eat your lunch early maybe have 1/2 a banana (eat the rest on return) but do not sit down anywhere or it is so tough to get back up.
It's now that you really need good power tunes to get you buzzing. Just like days of yore when getting ready to go clubbing only now it's to go running. Get your headphones and music on whilst getting ready so by the time you're on the way out the door you are psyched and ready to go! 👍🏻😁
