I literally can't believe I am writing this - all through the C25K I struggled, never ever got the buzz that I have heard lots on the programme experienced - I am not a runner but gave my self a challenge to complete this programme before my 60th birthday and I only went and flipping did it!!! Still don't enjoy running but I was 100% not going to let that stop me reaching my goal. I graduated on Tuesday and sitting typing this in my running gear trying to pump my self to go for run!
If you are just starting out on the C25K, the one piece of advice I found so helpful was steady and slow and I do mean slow - I have to say at the beginning I was running slower than the walkers passing me but it really doesn't matter.
I know others have written this but if I completed the C25K, anyone can.
Good luck!
Can't put it off any longer - I'm off to do my first 30 mins run after graduation!

congratulations and very well done. enjoy the consolidation runs now that you're a graduate... sounds great doesn't it. i've just done a really slow but comfy 5k and took time to look around me as I have the pleasure of running through woods. there's a whole world out there that we are sometimes to busy to notice. have a great day!! xx
Thanks speedylol, although this is my first post, I have been following all the great messages through this, at times, painful journey. I am so chuffed with my self.
Thanks all for all your lovely stories, really helped me complete the C25K!
Congratulations and I hope you have a wonderful run today. I didn’t truly enjoy the runs on the plan, but when the pressure was off and I relaxed I started to fall in love with running. Hopefully you celebrated your achievement well. Enjoy some consolidation and all future running adventures
Thanks Buddy34 - just got back from my 1st run since graduating and my 1st run outside, well it was pretty awful, such a struggle - I ran the same route I use when I go for my evening walk and didn't realise the pavement isn't flat!! At one point was contemplating stopping but so pleased I didn't. I really hope in time it will get easier. But as the lovely Laura said, I AM A RUNNER NOW!!
