Good morning all! I graduated on 30th June and have been running just a little extra each time since. I have yet to reach 5k. As I can't wear my glasses when I'm out I have to wait until I get home to see how far I've run. This morning was 3.10 miles (4.98 k)! How frustrating! I'm still quite slow and steady, but I'm determined to run 5k before going to do my first Parkrun in a couple of weeks! Have a good week fellow runners!

Well done you! I’m no expert on things but could you have a tracker that ‘bings’ when you get to a certain milestone? No worries about the glasses then. Awesome bit of persevere too! 😊👍

Thank you. I'm rather hoping somebody might be able to let me know if there is an app that will ping! Loving it though, best thing I ever started. :}

I have just checked my Fitbit dashboard and it says I ran 3.11 miles, so it looks like I DID run 5k! Is that more likely to be accurate than Strava on my phone?!

Is it a GPS Fitbit? Though 4.98 is 5 in round figures anyway, 20 paces is neither here nor there in terms of the accuracy if these things. But if you want to know when you’ve done 5k why not change your device settings from miles to km?

It's a Fitbit Versa, so no GPS. I might just do that! Thank you for the suggestion. I'm counting it as my first 5k anyway!

OK. It will be less accurate than Strava then because it is just counting your steps and multiplying by what it thinks your stride length is. But yes you’ve done 5k for all practical purposes.

Also when you get to parkrun you’ll know when to stop because there’ll be a muckle great sign saying ‘FINISH’ 😀 Enjoy! #DFYB
