Hi

Can anyone help? I'm stuck on Wk6 run3, I just can't start it, it seems way too scary! I've now done wk 6 runs 1 & 2 twice as run 2 nearly kills me I can't imagine what run 3 will be like. Any tips?

Yes I run outside, in the graveyard actually as I find the peacefulness really helps. I think my 52 year old legs are just too tired!! Will have a go this afternoon but I think as I don't sleep too well (only manage about 5 hours a night) that doesn't help either?

Ok I relate to that but can top it I’m a month of 55 and regularly only get 4 - 4 and half hours a night go for it you can go as as slow as it need to just keep moving step up and claim your completion of W6 .. you can do this get out there said out of love 🥰

You can already run for 20 minutes, as you did it at the end of Week 5, so this run is just an extension on that. All of the work you've done this week has been helping to build your stamina so that you can do this.

Take it really slow. Remember you should be going at a conversational approach. If you're finding it touch, slow your speed a little more. If the 25 minutes is feeling really daunting, why not just aim for the 20, because you know you can do that. You might find that when they couch pops in to say you've only got 5 minutes left that you'll have enough fuel to keep going. You CAN do this.

I was using Sarah Millican and her W5R3 was messed up, we went back to W3! So I never did the 20 min run.

I have now gone back to W5R3 with Joe Wiley and last night I DID IT!! I felt so good afterwards, don’t know what all the fuss was about!! W6R3 come on!!

Thanks for your encouragement 🤩

Go for it! You can do it, just tell yourself that so you start with the right mindset. You've done 20mins, you can do 25!....I have just finished run2 of wk8 and I find the first 10 mins really hard. Every bit of my body is telling me to give up, once you overcome that , the rest is easy (ish) 😉 Good luck

I know how you feel, I did it last night. I ran R3W5 twice and R2W6 twice before I ventured onto 25 mins. Do your prep, start slow and steady and, if you want to pick the pace up and have the energy do it at the end. I felt great when I did it. You can do it, you've done 20 which is fantastic, its just an extra push on.

Let us all know when you've done it.....

I never got to do the 20mins as Sarah millican version got mixed up and she goes back to W3R3! So last night I did Joe Wiley version W5R3 and whoop whoop.... I smashed it!!!

Bring on the 25 mins!!!

Thanks for your support 👍🏻

Sarah Millican go me mixed up on Week 5 Run 3, I had to actually download the app again because she would not move on, I'm running with Michael Johnson now.

Well done for getting this far, its a good feeling when you move up a level, however I am going to repeat week 7 again, I just don't feel quite there to move on to week 8 yet.

You smash 25 mins!!!

There’s a reason why there’s a repeat function on this programme: it’s because everyone is different and not everyone can do every run first time. You’re asking a lot of changes of your body, but also of your mind, and sometimes you just need a little longer to adjust.

So next time you go out, put on 6:3. Don’t get all het up thinking you have to nail it. Tension is a real run-killer. Relax and enjoy seeing what you can do. If you don’t get right through, take a note of what you’ve done and walk the rest. The following time, aim to beat that, and repeat until you conquer it. You can do this, but be kind to yourself and relax over it. It took me nine weeks of repeats just to conquer week 1, so if I could, you definitely can ! Look on your repeats as a great opportunity to build stamina, and always remember the First Rule of C25k: The only run you fail is the run you don’t go for ! Have fun out there x
