Can't believe I've just run for 25 minutes!! Spent the first ten minutes thinking it was impossible and then suddenly I had 60 seconds left! Beyond shocked! Keep going people and I can only say trust the plan!

Congratulations to you Ozveth, you are now OFFICIALLY a RUNNER by completing run 3 of week 6, onwards and upwards to week 7 which are all 3/25 minute runs.

Congratulations! I'm starting W5 so it's great to hear accounts of what I have coming my way soon.

Congratulations. I did the same run this morning, my legs felt heavy around 15 min mark so had to walk a couple of minutes and then managed to run the rest. Think I’ll give it another go before moving on to next week.

Well done! . keep going ... As someone on here said , focus on what you've achieved over the past few weeks. If anyone had told me I'd be running for 25 mins I'd have laughed in their face!

Well on you.

How fantastic does it feel.

I think this program must be witchcraft.

I still find the first km the hardest and don’t really get into my stride until at least 3km and then I’m comfortable....

Well done. Yes it’s normal to find the first ten minutes hard. It’s a known phenomenon called the toxic ten and its not only in your mind: there are known physiological reasons for it and it affects everyone to a greater or lesser extent. Mentally, simply knowing that it gets better after about ten minutes helps you through. Physically, warming up properly, hydrating properly and trying to take the first ten minutes a bit slower all help. But the first ten minutes will always feel harder because it takes the body that time to adjust to the processes involved in running.

I’ve heard of this toxic ten thing... never thought I’d get to ten minutes, so never looked into it properly 😁... I’ll have a read up on it, thanks.

The thing is until you get past ten minutes you’re actually in the toxic ten all the time. It gets better after that because in longer runs it’s only the first ten minutes not the whole run!
