Who's doing Parkrun in the morning?

I think my dodgy old hip has settled down now and I'm planning on going to Parkrun in the morning so long as it keeps behaving itself. My son wants to go again as well which is lovely. Who else will be parkrunning in the morning? I'll be thinking of my VRBs, perhaps especially AlMorr who is doing his first Parkrun! ☺

Sadly I’m not... have to go to a mid morning opera... I’ll be thinking of all you guys and probably wishing I was running!!!

Interesting, opera, I have only been to two opera's in my life, Carmen by Bizet and a early opera by Puccini, which opera are you going to UNM while I will be running my first parkrun?.

UnfitNoMore profile image
UnfitNoMoreGraduate in reply toAlMorr

The Orphans of Koombu... it’s a world premier and little miss UNM will be on the stage... the latter is the only reason I’m doing that and not parkrun... no parkrun in Buxton so no tome to run and then go.

Have a great run tomorrow

Enjoy the opera tomorrow with little Miss UNM taking part, thanks for encouraging me on my run tomorrow. 😊 🏃

Good luck, or should I say break a leg to little miss UNM! I did look into the Bakewell Parkrun when we went up to Derbyshire at half term but then realised we'd be travelling up from Kent on the Saturday morning so no good.

I was shocked there wasn’t one in town... never mind, there’s always another week.

I’m looking at getting down to Windsor for one from up here, and it’s a difficult decision between very early alarm or a beery Friday with my mate and then trying to run 🤣

Debston profile image
DebstonGraduate in reply toUnfitNoMore

Hmm, early alarm or beery evening with mate - tough choice! 😂

Not been in his company for a couple of years... may not make the run at all! May have to look at travelling on the Thursday I think.

I’m not far from Windsor, I run at Bedfont lakes near Staines

I’m going tomorrow but not running.

I’m tailwalker with my daughter.

Great stuff, the volunteers are brilliant. I will volunteer soon, tailwalker sounds like a nice job to do.

I love tailwalking 👍🏽

.. even if it takes 90 minutes, there was a discussion the other day about a cut off time for certain parkruns, even some people going for a coffee before they finished. 😊

Glad to hear your hip is feeling so much better Debston!

I'm 50/50 about parkrun tomorrow. Youngest has Drama group on the other side of the city at the same time. Hubby offered to take him but has since said he'll be training for his 100km bike ride. I'm waiting to see!

Fingers crossed that you get to go!

Good luck to all, Bluebirdrunner be warned it's a bit addictive! 😂 And yes, I will be stretching until I can stretch no more... Looking forward to hearing all about it.

Me! Love parkrun! I’ve managed to get a load of our new ex beginners from club to come along for their first 👍🏽

Debston profile image
DebstonGraduate in reply toTasha99

That's fantastic! Are you all going to run round together or meet up on the finish line?

Tasha99 profile image
Tasha99Graduate in reply toDebston

I think we’ll be in little groups. I’ve got a trail HM on Sunday so I’ll be going slowly but one of the beginners is a 26 min 5k so I’ll be nowhere near her! Others are 45 minutes. We’ll all definitely meet at the end for a photo!

Debston profile image
DebstonGraduate in reply toTasha99

26 minutes is an awesome time! I am really hoping to beat my pb of 41.09... Good luck for your HM on Sunday, hope you're going to be running through some lovely scenery. I will look forward to a full report and a pic of the bling! ☺

Tasha99 profile image
Tasha99Graduate in reply toDebston

Awe thank you! It’s slightly scary but at least you can stop more on trails 🤣 plus, I’ll be running in a little group from club.

Good luck with a PB - let me know how you do!

Debston profile image
DebstonGraduate in reply toTasha99

Will do! I missed it by 15 seconds last week!

Ssasqueen profile image
Ssasqueen

I’m going - it will be my second park run - I want to beat last weeks time!

Debston profile image
DebstonGraduate in reply toSsasqueen

Bet you'll be a bit faster now you know the course. 🍀

I want to, I'm considering it, I love it, but my race is next Sunday, and I want to run 10k again before then. I don't really want to do that next week, I want to relax next week... So I have to do it this weekend ... DECISIONS! 😫😩 Might do Parkrun and 8km or even 7km on Monday.. Then rest up. 🛌🛀🧘‍♂️ 💆‍♂️

Debston profile image
DebstonGraduate in reply to

Parkrun and a 7km run in the week sounds perfect. Tapering and all that jazz! Not long to go now - hope you're cool and confident, you're going to ace it! ☺

in reply toDebston

Thanks Debs, I'll be fine on the day, it's like going on holiday, once I'm on the plane/starting line, I'll be fine.. but I'll be a nervous wreck until then.. wondering if I've forgot something or left the gas on. 🤣

Debston profile image
DebstonGraduate in reply to

😂 When I did my 5km race in June, my main worry was that I would oversleep and miss it!

Pianism profile image
PianismGraduate

Oh, I'd dearly love to be running tomorrow (even walking would be fab!!). I'll be thinking of you all and muttering under my breath haha. I'm not even volunteering this week as my parkrun has a girl guide group doing all the marshalling so I'm surplus to requirements. Still, at least I can lie in! :)

Debston profile image
DebstonGraduate in reply toPianism

Enjoy your lie-in. Life is frustrating sometimes!

Looking forward to it. Was going to do my NENDY but will have to stay local instead. So will be doing my 44th Parkrun at my local Parkrun.

Enjoy everyone.

I'm going to start exploring a few nearby ones at some point soon... But then I will have to get up earlier so I keep putting it off!
