Fabulous parkrun morning

Well, folks, it wasn't long before I had to change the digits on my new fridge magnet! Parkrun was near perfect this morning and the conditions, along with my recent longer runs and strength work, helped me to shave a bit more off my 5k PB.

I WILL get to a 30-minute 5k... eventually! :)

Well, me too at the moment! I started at 47 minutes + 6 months ago so there's hope!

47 minutes to 32 in 6 months?! Wowee!

Pianism profile image

Well, 5.5. This plan is amazing!

😯 crumbs! That's impressive.

Our bodies are amazing creations if we will let them flourish. For so many years I subjected mine to the most horrible abuse. Now I'm treating it a bit better.

That is some awesome progress, Pianism!! Wow!

Thank you. But I'm nothing special. If I can, anyone can. :)

What a great time! Won't be long before you get that sub 30 minute mark on there!

Pianism profile image
PianismGraduate in reply toFatgirlslim19

Fingers crossed. It's certainly starting to feel achievable. :)

Of course it is, you can definitely do that!

Fantastic stuff Pianism. I’m loving that fridge magnet. Seeing my PB on the fridge like that, might stop me raiding it in the middle of the night...probably not though.

The secret is not to have anything interesting in it in the first place! A mantra that has seen me take off 3.5 stones! :)

in reply toPianism

Yep, completely agree with that... 3.5 stones!? Congratulations.

Wow you are so fast! I need to do some more to get better and earn a fridge magnet kind of time!!

Pianism profile image
PianismGraduate in reply toCouchpotato2

Chipping away at my time gradually, week by week and month by month... I seem to run about 3 parkruns fairly slowly and then suddenly go for broke and hit a new PB on the 4th. I will be having a proper celebration when I get to 30 minutes! :)

Yes it will call for champagne 🍾 I think!

Love this and the fridge magnet did my 1st 5k run on saturday (only my 2nd overall run in 4 years) and felt a little disheartened as it took me 40.46. Think having a magnet would help me aim to beat each week (when I cam attend due to shift worker) x

Pianism profile image

I have all sorts of things to keep my motivation up... fridge magnet, weight loss chart, running plan, formal races, parkrun etc.. The more ways I can find to keep me going the better! :)

Don't be frustrated by your time - you are out there running and that's what counts! :)
