Obviously I know that you shouldn’t wear a normal bra when running as it doesn’t support you when you go but I don’t have a sports bra so when I done my first run today it hurt like hell as the wires were rubbing and digging in. Tomorrow I am buying appropriate attire and I will keep going as I really enjoyed it... except for the bit where I took my bra off mid run and held my breasts the rest of the way. Doh!

Love the mental picture. And know what you mean. I got some triumph bras. They’ve been great.
I feel such an amateur. Ha ha. Here’s to a comfortable run this Saturday. Still, it’s only week one. I’ll learn as I go. 👍😁
Holy moly... there’s a mental image. Great job on the run... and many thanks on behalf any guys observing the end of your run too 🤣
Enjoy that next run in much more comfort!
Ha, my husband came with me on my first run this week as an observer and the first thing he commented on afterwards was the fact that he thinks I need to purchase a sports bra!!! I am just so relieved that he didn’t film me. Happy bra shopping, I’m not going to bother until I know I’m properly committed 😀
Ha ha. Thanks guys. It’ll be the best £20 ever spent.
Ha ha ha! I have a Shock Absorber bra, and it’s been brilliant. Good luck! 😁
Me too and mine too! I'm fairly large in the chest and there's no bounce at all from what I can tell. Bit tricky putting it on though as it's so tight fitting!
Another vote for Shock Absorber sports bra. Life changing!
I’m definitely going to look up the shock absorber! I and quite too heavy.. does that matter?
Check out the FAQ post for newbies... it may not mention bras, but it offers essential advice..
TK Maxx have a good selection, they tend to sell out quickly so check everyday

Thanks 👍 I’ll have a look. I must say. My first run was an hour ago and I can’t be more pleased with the support I’m getting from this group already. I can’t wait to go out on sat for my second one 😊
M&S have some good ones too. I like their unwired, wide strap model.
I have some from M&S and they are the best I’ve ever used! They have a racing back and great support but look a bit daunting as you almost climb in to them 😂 Good luck shopping
Ha ha. That’s an image to make us smile!
Tip re Shock Absorber. I found out after I’d purchased mine that it’s best to try a size up. Mine does the job but it’s sooooo tight I actually pulled a muscle in my neck trying to put it on once and couldn’t run for 2 weeks 😱.
Good luck with the rest of the program 😊
Made me giggle Aspiring lol (I’m sure there’s been a fair few of us who have experienced this phenomenon😉). Hope you get sorted. Congratulations on starting your C25K journey 👍🏻
M&S zip up the front keep my ample chest under control although it can be a work out in itself trying to get it done up
I love a chuckle and as ever these posts about scaffolding equipment always make me laugh - and if you look, you’ll find it’s a regular thread on the forum! I’m an M&S girl myself though it’s a completely different size to my normal eqpt! But as long as it works, it’s fine! Good luck in your search - you definitely won’t regret it!
Ha ha ha! I’ll keep an eye on future posts about the boobs. 😂
I’ll definitely also look at going to M&S as that’s the shop most of you runners swear by.
It does help with a decent sports bra. I feel more confident when I go out. The last thing you want is Bill and Ted bobbing about all over the place. So whatever is good for you.
Has any of you noticed how you are attitude to running has changed? For example, I changed my footwear, then I looked at my running gear and wear a wick type top, I have now bought wireless earpieces so I can listen to the podcast and some music. Now I have a couple of sports bras.
I love running now than I did at school. Happy running 🏃♀️
I couldn’t agree more. It felt like a rush when I was out there yesterday. And I was in a good mood all day at work today because of it. 😁
I have a brooks bra for running and I found it tight to start with as it really straps your boobs tight so no bounce.
I love it now so comfortable with wide straps and racer back.
I have a shock absorber & a Freya, (both bought at Bravissamo). The Freya is wonderfully comfortable- it has turned out to be my “go to bra” almost every run. Shock absorber does a good job too, but I find it even harder to get into & gives a strange “mono boob” effect. 😂😂
🤣🤣
When I first started I had an M and S front zipped one. After it opened twice by itself mid run (!) I bought a shock absorber and I love it! I would advise you to go up a chest size, as they are very tight otherwise. I leave the top fastening done up and only use the bottom one as it is easier to get on that way.
Good luck!
Don’t laugh till you’ve tried it... Another tip is try wearing 2 bras, or a shock absorber plus a tight crop top. It really works!
