W5R2 Sports bra malfunction!

Catherinel14secondtimearound profile image

Unfortunately hubby was away today - managed to get my v tight sports bra on but as I'm not houdini couldn't fasten the second hook and eye strap which makes it like a straight jacket and really holds. Set off as usual get to the first 8 min run and I'm jigging rather than jogging! The arm straps kept wanting to slide down. I slowed and paused the podcast. Then thought πŸ’ I'm not giving up! Resumed and just took Jo's advice to take it steady ..... and it worked.!!! It wasn't as planned but the second 8 mins I kept going and didn't stop. I feel a real sense of achievement. Next time I will wear my other bra which is easier to fit! πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Catherinel14secondtimearound This really made me giggle! Well done for carrying on and not letting that bra let you down!

I keep the upper hooks done up permanently on my ShockAbsorber and put it over my head then just do up the bottom hooks once it's on. I am not sure how I could even reach the top hooks once I put it on.

Yes me too :)

I've tried this but can't reach the bottom hooks either. Maybe I have unusually short arms? :-D

No it's really hard unless you have help x

Ahh. I like this idea! I do the top ones first but after I have put it on, then the bottom hooks after stretching the strap out and changing arms several times! It's exhausting and my fitbit never mentions those calories I burned! There were other models of sports bra that completely defeated me, but thankfully I'm happy with the ShockAbsorber :D

Which shock absorber? I have two the one that malfunctioned has caused all this! But if it's on it's brill - just can't do it up without help πŸ™‚

Shock absorber ultimate sports bra? has a bikini type clip at the top and hooks and eyes at the bottom - all at the back! Once it's on it's very comfy and definitely 'stops the flop'! Getting to that point can be an unbelievable contortion but I've only had to ask for help once so far !!!! :D :D :D

Ooh might try that! My shock absorber is a real trial!! 🀣

What a hoot!! πŸ˜‚ But so well done for persevering and conquering Week 5 Run 2 πŸ‘πŸ‘

Well done for carrying on. These contraptions that they call high impact sports bras come with their own gremlins. It's bad enough getting them on, getting them off when you're exhausted is nigh on impossible and you can hear the gremlins laughing!

Sports bras are a menace! Well done for keeping going. πŸ‘

We definitely need @Rignold and @ju-ju- to make an instructional video for on/off sports bras.

In these days of equality, we must also see juju remove Rignold's, it's only right😱

I've seen Rig's chest (I have his 'DILF' photo with the caption "This is why you must run today" as my Pc's screen saver) and I'm certain that the 'Sports Bra' episode will exclusively feature his semi-naked torso, attractively lit, maybe with longer-range shots of him in a field scything, wrestling bears and other manly pursuits.

There must be comfortable sports bras out there somewhere

Pip2002 profile image

I have the exact same problem!! Why don't they do a sports bra that has the top clip that we can leave done up all the time, then put our head through that bit and do the lower band up at the front?! Or is there one out there already like that, any suggestions please? :-D

Wow, Victoria's Secret do one that zips up the front. May have to try it! victoriassecret.com/vs-spor...

Pip2002 profile image

And M & S and House of Fraser do them too! They look a bit more robust than the Victoria's Secret one. :-D

I have an M and S front zipping one. It is usually ok, but has been known to unzip mid run!

I have the M&S zip-up front loader. It does the job well but in the early days the zip came open twice during runs, leaving the contents completely unfettered and having to be manhandled back in.

πŸ˜‚ The woeful tales of getting in and out of the flopper stopper.... I have one from DΓ©cathlon with no hooks and eyes or zips. You pull it on over your head. The only problem is when you put it on and it gets rolled up under your arms... Makes me look like a sumo with his G-string on over his chest.

Ha ha πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I know the feeling! πŸ‘πŸ˜‚

All these posts made me giggle, which is awkward as I am still in the office! All #thesegirlscanrun, but I'm sure it would be easier if we weren't bodily challenged!

Who needs a bra? Didn't we burn them in the 60s or am I giving my age away?

Aww, well done Catherine for sticking at it. πŸ‘

Oh I know the 'bra' feeling haha, I try to picture the clasp at the top as if it's in front if me when I'm trying to get it to click. My face mannerisms include squinting, put of breath, I probably look a bit like Benny Hill when he pulls his funny face. My arms are virtually bent right back trying to do it and I get an almighty sweat on before I've started, lol πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

But that's brill news, I hope I can jog for that long too x

Well done for your persistence πŸ˜€Putting the damned things on is a workout in itself then of course having to get them off when hot and sweaty is another story!

I have got 2 zip up front ones from George at

Asda - they were Β£8 each so I was a bit sceptical but they are as good as my other 'over the head' ones. πŸ‘πŸΌ

Ha ha mines the other way round .. getting it off .. mines tight too to hold them down & I just havent got the energy to pull it up over my head at the end .. so hubby has to help 🀣

So glad I posted this! Glad I am not alone. All your comments have made me giggle or should I say jiggle - lol πŸ˜‚

The only way I can get in to and out of my sports bra is by stepping in to and out of it! Learnt the hard way - post run getting out of my kit for a shower - door bell went with a signed for delivery item which I needed to have that day - sports bra tangled around shoulders ,head and arms - I didn't make it to the door and spent the next 5/10 minutes getting the bra over my head.

I thought it was only me! Lol :) Getting it on, especially after it's washed, is like an advanced yoga session. ROFL at the 'flopper stopper'!

I have been reading all your comments and giggling, but I get into and out of my ShockAbsorber with relative ease. I put it on - back to front, fasten it up round my waist (both top and bottom hooks), then turn it around, hoik it up, stuff the relevant portions of my anatomy into their confinement and voila! no need for contortions :)

Hubby was there to hoik me in today - result ! Just completed W5R3 ! - to all those who are well endowed like me - I feel fantastic! πŸŽ‰

Brilliant funny funny post! which made me giggle bespecially the jigging rather than jogging part ha! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
