Hi. After years of feeling overweight and unhealthy I decided to take the plunge and join C25k. I've just had my 62nd birthday and don't want to feel like this on my 63rd. I did my first run this morning and I'm feeling positive although it wasn't easy after years of being inactive. I'm looking forward to this challenge but would appreciate support x

Hi, well done! As some said to me on here when I joined yesterday - you took those first steps and that's the hardest part.

I'm now on week 2 and utterly amazed that I finished week 1! It was tough but I was really surprised to find I enjoyed it. Right now I'm loving the 90 seconds of walking in between the runs but am hoping I'll end up loving the runs too!

Good luck with your journey, this place seems to be a fantastic support 😁

Congratulations on starting C25K, welcome to the forum, yes you will get plenty of support, firstly take all the runs slowly, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish, no running on consecutive days, any medical issues you are better to ask your doctor, read the frequently asked questions about the course, good luck 🤞. 😊 🏃

It is a lengthy document, but well researched and full of sound, tried and tested advice. Just start by reading How to run C25K and the links within that :)

Hi Anewmeby63 - I am the same age as you and started c25k a year ago. Have stuck with it through all the seasons. Followed the plan and purchased good shoes plus sport bra. 18lbs and a dress size down. Also much fitter and healthier. It is really worth it. Good luck!!

Hi, I’m 63 and know just how you feel, I’m on week 3, it’s hard as I live in a hilly area so I try to avoid running uphill but always seem to catch one but so far have kept going. Keep it slow and steady and hopefully by our next birthdays we will feel amazing, I’m in Dorset, where are you?
