After a second attempt at couch to 5k, I’m now having trouble with my knees. I’m on week 7 and the outside of both of my knees are hurting and on the right knee just under the knee also hurts. They hurt to walk up and down stairs. Was really excited as the finish was in sight and now I feel totally deflated. I’m doing gentle knee exercises but stopped running as I don’t want to damage them further. How long will it take before I can go back to running?

This is my worry as I have arthritic knees had a knee replacement on the right 2 years ago. The pain you describe sounds like atheistic pain especially if it’s worse going down hill or down stairs.
