Well done on finishing W7 especially in this heat. I was told by a fitness instructor that strengthening your thigh muscles takes the strain off your knees. Squats might help. Good luck 😉

Why did you run for 55 minutes? If you did..no wonder your poor knees ache..!

Did you mean 25 minutes?

If that is right..take it very slowly and try to land lightly.. try these exercises. many folk find them really helpful... :)

I still have a problem with my thigh so hoping they’ll help with that. Good luck with your one legged routine!

It sounds like you are not sticking to the programme which is designed to build your body up slowly within 9 weeks.

Knees hurt and people get injured by believing they know better than a carefully structured training plan........you didn't do W7R3, you went completely off piste, which is not advisable and breaches the 10% rule which is used as guidance for increasing distance and duration post C25k.

Because you can do something, does not mean that your body is prepared and conditioned to continue doing it. Doing too much too soon is a sadly familiar theme on this forum, which is why we suggest caution.

maybe you should read the post that I normally give to people on graduation healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and pay special attention to the tale of woe in the link healthunlocked.com/couchto5.... written by a fit young runner, who just overdid it.

Take care.

I’ve found people are very friendly on here. I’m a novice myself (W5), and have learned lots from the experienced folk. It’s hard not to sound preachy if you’ve giving the same piece of advice over and over again.

It would be a shame for you to leave.

I had sore knees in the early part of the programme but the gradual incremental increases in running helped my muscles to develop so the aches stopped and I never have problems with my knees now. If you ran for 55 minutes, you ran too far and that is what your knees are telling you. Stick with the programme, it works!

Don't run extra! The programme works if you stick to it. Don't push on even if you feel you can. Be patient!! 😎
