Ran that PB last October, just found out how to send a map of the area I ran.
PB 5K: Ran that PB last October, just found out... - Couch to 5K
PB 5K
Nice one Al
Ready for your trial parkrun this week ? It is this week you are going to run the parkrun route to try it out no ?
I went for my trial parkrun this morning on the exact park and course that I will run next week, got a time today of 38.05, the parkrun is on Saturday 13th July.
One thing which confuses me a little is the times on Mapmyrun are a little different, for example that headline time in bold of 33.40 is different from the split 5K time of 32.25 which I count as the time I tell everyone what my PB was when I ran a 5K, one minute fifteen seconds of a difference, most people I would think would use the lower time.
You use whatever time suits you best. I would prefer the lower one : )
So you're ready for your parkrun next week, you got a decent time there !
Thank you backintime, I think the difference in the times are probably to do with when I completed that 5K I fumbled around with my new Smartphone, it took me over a minute to stop the timer, it was new then, on more recent runs the difference between the two times have only been a few seconds.
Nice map, Al. Really looking forward to hearing about your Parkrun.
Well done you We live.. we learn
I was just saying to someone else Floss that I think I could run a 5K on a treadmill quicker than outside although I have never tried that, before my gait analysis two weeks ago I called a treadmill a dreadmill, but after being on a treadmill for the analysis I enjoyed the experience, the man in the shop set it a 10 and I felt very comfortable running on it with my new shoes for two minutes, I felt I could have gone on a lot longer.
I run almost twice as quickly on a treadmill... and the further I run, the faster I get... I would love to have my treadmill speeds in my outdoor runs... But , as I know now, that is not going to happen, although I did manage to get my 5 minute 1K pace in the Speed challenge
This snail is built for distance not speed... and that is official
Many of our forum friends have no choice but to run on treadmills... which is why I don't call the treadmill a dreadmill) , climate or location, make outdoor runs impossible...and a run is a run.
They do have their place. I use mine when conditions are icy, or snowy, and it has been really helpful getting me back up to par, after injury, as has my elliptical cross trainer
We learn so much as we run.. and not just about running
Good one Al 👏👏 A nice solid route. Mine always look like a drunken squiggle 😂😂
Enjoy your parkrun. Mine is longer than 5k which is annoying but I stick with the official time. My Strava 5k time is better though 🤣 Love a parkrun!
