3rd 5k (and PB)

Whew! I am still slow, but I just ran a 5k in 40:49. That is my best time yet. I set out unsure that I would run a full 5k (my knee was just slightly sore). Part of the way in, my knee felt good and I decided to see how I felt at the 30 minute mark. Then someone jogged past me. I could tell that her comfortable pace was a bit faster than mine. I think I may be the slowest one out there. However, in a case on tortoise vs. hare, the hare had to slow to a walk. Tortoise keeps going, neck stretching out, aaaaaand passes o. The left. Tortoise kept going and maintained the lead. (I think the other runner eventually got tired of staring at my pink and gray clad bum and went a different way). either way, that friendly bit of competition knocked or so minutes off of my best time. Woo hoo! Tortoise isn't quite running a sub 40 5k, but I'm getting there. Now for a shower. Oh, check out the bling from my virtual 5k!

Very well done RFB. Aren't these PB's great? I have

found that the great thing about starting from a tortoise/turtle base pace is that you have so many PB moments to look forward to! I look forward to hearing about your next one.

A pb is a pb regardless of the time - it means you have worked hard and run faster than you have ever run before!!!! Nice medal by the way! What is a "Virtual 5k"?

Thank you! A virtual 5k is a 5k that you sign up for online, run anywhere, and at any time during the registration period. It's good for people who don't gave a lot of in person 5ks in their area. You get the medal and bib in the mail and post your results online.

Well done RFB! nice bling! An OK time as well, your just a tad faster than me lol, but we are always improving, I've been tackling a hilly circuit on Parkrun on Saturday and shaved off 3 mins from a few weeks back..
