Hey well done! Donβt forget to consolidate
Thanks jaojao, what do you mean by consolidate ?
Huge well done you!
The best bit... This is just the beginning!!!
The next best bit... we will be right here with you as you head onwards
Thank you so much , onwards we go !!πβ
You ain't seen nothing yet!
I started this in 2015.... C25K.... at 65... did my first HM this year... aged 68... a week before my 69th birthday!
That's unbeliveable!!!. Think I'm a bit off HM just now but maybe in time who knows . This is why i like this forum , it's full of fantastic achievements and yours is one of the best I've heard. Good on you and long may it continue πβ
Thank you.... I started this without any idea where I would get to. and my HM , like every single milestone on this journey... ( 10 miles being a significant milestone) ...has just been for me... my health and my family and wanting to be around for them for as long as I can be
I was only ever going to do 5K...ha ha!!!
There's no stopping you by the sounds of it lol!!.I think what you've achieved is amazing, 10k is going to be my next goal so I'll keep chipping away at it lol.
Congratulations GMAN! Fantastic achievement. So what's next?
Well, JaoJao mentioned consolidating, that's just doing what you've been doing...30 minutes x 3 a week until you feel comfortable at that distance... maybe 1 to 3 weeks... Then you can try different types of training... intervals, long runs, hill running... whatever.
Parkrun is good, don't know if you're already doing it.
You can always join us on the Bridge to 10k forum, you'll see the regulars over there, training for 10k or just talking about how their running is going. Stick around and give advice to others, and let us know how your running is going.
Thanks clubberlang ,I'm definitely sticking to 3 runs a week as it's in my blood now lol. Park runs are also sounding good as there's afew close to me . Bridge to 10k is where I think my heads at , so there's plenty of stuff tΓ² get my teeth into . I will be sticking around πβ
Good stuff! Then I shall see you on Bridge to 10k! π
Deffo πβ

Thanks cally73 and well done you to π π. Today is defiantly a good day to graduate!!. Let's hope there's a lot more days like this in the near future πβ. New challenges await!!
Congratulations. I first saw that avatar and it took me back to being late for school because Iβd been in the queue to get my hands on βyo!β Way back when... well worth a Saturday morning detention. Celebrate well... raise the roof. Enjoy consolidation and all your future running adventures... even an nation of millions canβt hold you back.
Loving the post !!. Yep , public enemy are the soundtrack of my youth π. The good old days when hip hop was hip hop . Thanks for your support and kind words as it does mean a lot to me . πβ.
I was into metal and early hip hop... Iβd heard so much about that first album that it really shouldnβt have blown my mind... but suddenly there was a lot of learning to be done while spinning some vinyl. They changed my mindset as a public school boy coming from the polar opposite direction as them... and they changed my life for the better.
Ran to Fear of a Black planet a couple of weeks ago... not sure what to do with my feet during a good Terminator X scratch, but apart from that it worked really well.
Welcome to the TERRORDOME always gets me . Chuck Ds vocal blows me away on that track. Fear of a black planet, takes a nation are timeless classics. It wouldn't be wise me playing P.E whilst running cause I'd be singing my head off and using precious oxygen lol. Terminator x is a goose farmer nowadays , how mads that π€£
Iβd read that... and I thought it was a bit of a change of pace... but I do respect that decision a lot... he made the money, touring is tough, and he got to choose what to do with his life... who wouldnβt want that? Touring is not as glamorous as it appears, you donβt see any of the places you visit really. Years later on worldwide tech support I got that... I did 40 US cities in 30 days on an teaching tour once... a few days in i could only work out where I was by checking my calendar... all airports and most hotels look the same after a while! Glad to be out of that job.
I do find myself mouthing lyrics when I canβt sing/rap... but thatβs a good thing for the general publicβs ears... Iβm tone deaf π€£
Yep he took the money and ran lol. Can't blame him one bit !!. That job sounds like a nightmare lol,and as for singing I'm tone deaf to ππ.
