Drive to run

Does anybody drive to a place for their jogging session rather than running from home? Every route I run from home has steep hills and although I am getting much better at coping with them I would be interested to see what I can do on the flat. Does it make much difference?

Yes if you've got a continuous flat route its easier on the legs and breathing on the other hand the hills will make you a stronger running as I have found 😊

Yep, I do. Only because the surroundings are better. Terrain is slightly undulating but not a problem.

Yes I found my flattest bit in the near vicinity to transition from treadmill to outside, still a bit undulating but better than the hill I live on that feels like Mount Everest when you're running

I quite often drive to nice running routes. The only route I don't drive to is my regular route in the local woods which is conveniently a 5 minute brisk walk away.

I always drive to the coast as it’s about 10mins and I love it. Earlier small runs, just jogged round the streets. No where near as nice.

I drove more in the earlier weeks as too embarrassed to run from my house! Now I don't care 😂 but I do at the weekend so i can do a nice trail run.

Flat running is lovely, slightly downhill is my fav! I would ensure any uphill was at the start of my walk, pref in the brisk 5 mins then run flat or down. My runs are getting too long for that now so I'm being brave and incorporating some upward inclines. Certainly nothing as bad as your hill sounds ⛰😱

My hill is basically 1km and whichever way I go I have to do it! There is also one half way round if I go a certain route!

Crikey. Have you considered moving? I know it may sound a bit drastic but if needs must 🤷‍♀️😉

Lol! It was a bit of a shock the first time I tried pushing a pram up it the day after we moved in!!!

I drive all the time to do my runs. It allows me to change up the scenery and find some pretty places to run which keeps it fun and interesting.

Absolutely LUHAN , I often drive to a place where the views are gorgeous, rolling countryside, sheep and cows...its always good to mix up our running with new routes, music etc...theres so much to see out there so why not go exploring?!
