When to Run?

I work 8-4, I have been doing my run at about 4.45 after I get home from work, I am tempted to get up earlier and run before work, means getting up before 6 though.

I shall give it a go on Monday. :)

I run at night normally.. around 9pm. Not for everyone!

I'm an early bird too. Always have been. Sets me up for the day. I've got nothing but admiration for people who can run after work. One day maybe when I'm better at this, but right now I need the focus and "rigidity" of my early morning "me time". Tho I guess 5:30am will start to feel a bit grim come the Autumn/Winter....

I shall see how it goes on Monday.

I’m the same. I’m an early bird- or is that there are less people I might bump into?!! Probably both . I’d love to just run when I felt like it but do agree that this time of year is so special I want to be out there. Not even thinking about autumn yet 😱

I get up at 5.15 tue/thurs small glass of water, empty stomach running by 5.30 back by 6.15. Perfect way to start the day, and if the sun is up and out, well it don’t get any better!!!

I definitely don't think I would willingly get up early to work out 😬

I would love to be one of those people who can do it though! I typically go out around 9ish pm to unwind from the day.

I would give it a try and see which works better. One plus is that you would have it out of the way without worrying about running out of time in the evening (frequently happens to me).

I'm definitely a morning runner (Well not quite runner yet, only on W3) I woke this morning feeling a bit groggy and not sure if I could be bothered running, but went out just after 6am and feel so refreshed now and ready to get on with my day, lifts your mood and starts the day off feeling great. I know it's not for everyone but I'd definitely recommend giving it a go 👍

With you all the way on this. Right now I'm kind of excited about the alarm going off at 5:15 on a "running" (W4) day. But I'm probably borderline psychotic :-)

I know what you mean, not feeling like a runner yet, but I sure that I will.

Early start is sounding good, thanks

I’m up everyday and out the door usually before 6.30. It’s the best time of day, you get light at this time of year and not many folks are about. It will also set you up for your day at work and you will feel energised. Have I won you over?

Intermittent Fasting is part of my regime, so it will be interesting to see how it works when I won't be eating for about five hours after.

I have just read an article on the BBC news website about larks and owls. I am definitely a lark and I love having the park almost to myself.

Hi I alternate my runs. I actually think it’s easier in the morning I get up about 5.15 back home then have a big bowl of porridge. Although the days I don’t go out after work I feel that I should be!

I run after work usually about 6-30 / 7pm. Or at the weekend about 11am.

Do each time it's before a meal (Did one after lunch once... never again!) 😂

Early morning runs, not so many Gazelles or other traffic, less chance of been run at by dogs. Home by 06:30, then, if a day off, you can shower, and have a leisurely read without the guilt 🤩

Out by 06:30 and back by 07:20. Most beautiful time of the day. Three times a week and may now get out there on non running days for nature photography.
