Sadly not... but good words about the heat, itβs not looking like a day to attempt a PB everyone!!!
Oh no, sorry you wonβt be joining us. Tomorrow will be a test for me too as itβs not been very hot the last few weeks Iβve started to attend Park Run. Fingers crossed itβs relatively comfortable at 9.00am!
I'm going to do it. Hoping the worst of the heat won't have hit by 9 am.
Good luck with yours!
20 here at 7.30 this morning and that was with a breeze!
Thanks Stephen, look forward to catching up after the run! Yes, also hoping it will be cool at 9.00am. Will get the big sunglasses out tomorrow π
Go for it! But remember that staying alive is more important than getting a PB.
BBC says 21 degrees at 9 and 23 degrees by 10.
Good luck to you JaoJao on running your first 5K Parkrun tomorrow morning, drink plenty of water today, as it is going to be warm, just run it slowly and stop if necessary to have a drink from your water carrier. π π
I hope to run my first parkrun next month, I now have proper running shoes and a barcode. π
I hope everyone is reading Realfoodieclub 's post re hydration...
Al, I think JaoJao has run three PRs already.
So what have you been running in until now?!
I have not yet ran a parkrun, however, up until now I have been running a few 5Ks in reasonable quality ordinary trainers, I got a gait analysis on Wednesday then bought a pair of Brooks Glycerin 16 Running shoes as recommended and two pairs of Twin Skin Unisex Anti-Blister socks.
I sent you all a photo of them on Wednesday under the heading
"Ya Beauties"
Yes, I liked that picture a lot. When you said that only now do you have proper running shoes, it just sounded like you had previously been running in boots or clogs or something!
Way back in the winter of 2017/18 well before I even started with C25K I ran a few 1 minute runs in boots, only a few, this was the time I had just discovered the Healthunlocked C25K home page, at that time I thought C25K was something to do with running 25 kilometers, lol, anyway once I started with C25K I bought good quality trainers and never ran in boots again.
Too hot here and still under the Physio's orders
Sorry about that Floss, you could be like me and go and spectate at a parkrun, I intend to run my first parkrun on Saturday July 13 at Dunfermline, however, tomorrow I am going there to see exactly what the course is, I may even take my barcode with me and show it to one of the marshals once the run has started just to prove who I am and tell him I will be running on that same course in two weeks time. π
I'm hoping to do my first one π± if I can get up early enough. I think the one in the next town might be shady so that's the aim π
Have fun at yours x
Hey! Youβre going to love it, have you registered on the website and downloaded your barcode? Look forward to hearing your update x
I'm in, so long as I don't oversleep! I think getting out there first thing is the only way that I will be running tomorrow with the predicted hot weather. It's saying 22Β° at 9am...
Edited to add,my swanky new plastic barcode arrived yesterday as did my swanky new running top so I kind of HAVE to go and try them both out!
Good luck everyone who's running tomorrow
Sunscreen and water....stay safe : )
Sunscreen I totally forgot about that! Good call!
yes,i`m in.
i am not after a pb in this heat but going because i enjoy the pr spirit.

Well? Did you do yours? We need a report!
Hey Stephen_UK, hey everyone!
Park Run done and done! I managed another PB, thatβs four in a row. My target was to keep my pace under 8mins/Km and I managed it! No walking, all running!
I was quite faint when I reached the end and went into the clubhouse, there I grabbed a cold fruit shoot and that sorted me out!
How did everyone else get on?
I cannot wait for Park Run next week, will be my 5th! Just a slight addiction over here can you tell πππ
Wow! Four in a row. Amazing. Hope you didnβt overdo it.
Lots of Parkrun reports here: healthunlocked.com/bridgeto...
I didnβt push too hard today, I remembered all the advice, no sprint finish at the end just a steady pace throughout the run kept me going!
