Shorter runs - yay or nay?

I graduated C25K recently and since then have done two 30/35 min runs but also a couple of 15/20 min runs which I’ve enjoyed too.

Does anyone else do this? I don’t want to undo my good work but would like to keep it fresh and run what I feel on the day!

Yes I graduated a few months ago and I tend to do 3/4 runs a week and I like to mix it up with longer 40mins or very pacy 20mins- even sometimes a slow 20 as the variety I think helps with overall fitness and it’s just good to mix it up

It's all about doing what you enjoy doing, so if that is what works for you and you enjoy doing it, carry on. So long as you stay off the couch, you won't undo anything.

Lovely thank you - that’s what I thought and it’s burning hot sun in Cornwall today so I figured a 17 minute fast run was better than nothing!

So long as your 30 minutes run is comfortable then you’re good to vary it up a little. You could go longer gradually on one run a week to increase that endurance and use your short run to work on pace a little at a time too.

Yes good idea! Hitting 5k in 35 minutes so would like to work on my speed and hit that 30 min 5k!

That's what I am doing on the Bridge to 10k magic plan, one short run, one 5k and then one longer run each week.

I find my longer runs help my shorter runs, at meast that's what I believe. Maybe it's just the variety.
